Guys im sorry but I need to VENT!!!!
Thats ok, we dont even pay attention to where the person bought the car when we do work on it. The only time it matters is if they need a loaner car and we dont have many left, the loaners go to the people that bought their cars from us.
Where I work, in a situation like yours it wouldnt make any difference where you bought it.

you should act calm and talk to the manager first. ask him if anyone has taken out the car yet, and approximately how many miles it should have been driven. then tell him what you heard and that you wrote down the mileage before hand. check the mileage with him. if the mileage is higher then he expects. calmly explain how upset you are from trusting his dealership and what kind of damage could happen in the future. ask him what they are going to do for you. if he doesn't offer something spectacular like a full warranty in writing regardless of mods, or a free clutch, tell him he will hear from your lawyer. but i think being calm and not acting like a kid will get you farther, especially when your claim is hearsay.
Hey whats going on all. The story is true, I was the one at the party that heard the story from the kid who worked at the dealer. I was pretty pissed to find that out, and there is no way I was going to keep that from him. Hope everything gets worked out ok.

modified enough to put 372 to the wheels and 380 torque. I just put on brand new Azenis 615 (amazing tire btw) tires too i still need to check them for wear as i literally had them mounted days before it went in for service.
This is teh suxor. I hope you are able to get some kind of positive resolution- complete drivetrain warranty for 100K would be suh-weet
And I'm glad you like the Azenis 615's- that's what I'm getting later in the summer when I've shredded my Azenis sports

I definately agree on the keep your cool point. If you go in there and start acting the fool they will completely blow you off as some hot head who looses his temper over anything and should not be taken seriuosly. If you remain calm like it sounds like you have and explain to them why you are pissed and all you want is for them to make it right and the potential for legal action against them if they don't they most likely try to appease you.
You may want to bring your friend that over heard the conversation so, he can identify the dumbass in question. Atleast then if the dealership doesn't do anything you guys could take turns beating the hell out of the wash flunkie.

this sucks, but what if the kid denies it? i mean, you have a slip that says your odometer was at a certain mileage and now it is 8 miles over that. how would one go about proving that if it goes to court? I'm thinking the only way to positively prove it is if someone signed off on the mileage when you drop your car off, which I'm assuming didnt happen?
