Very nice Al.

Thanks for the compliments you guys have thrown my way. I do want you guys to know that I have had very little to do with Al's car though. Al and I have become good friends and I am glad to help him in anyway I can. Truth be told though Al is maniac when it comes to working on his EVO and he has done all of his work (mostly anyway) himself.

I'm very proud to have a small part in Al's accomplishments, but it is truthfully a small part.

I will try and get your new exhaust built this week! You are going to love it.

Hrm, that's quite impressive! Now it's time to ditch that ZEX system and go direct port with a bigger shot!

You know - I have had that Zex system for years . . . ever since my WRX days.

This is me in the process of winning the 1st East Coast WRX shootout back in September of 2002.

That day it was the same Zex kit in use.

Then I put it in my Evo when I first got it and I was the first to go 11's and ad great succsess on the stock evo motor.

I feel comfortbale with a small 35 shot which aides to lower intake charge temps and help spool the turbo. I dont think that this turbo needs any more than that and with my past history with this Zex kit - I have grown mightly attached to it.

Anybody who wants to calculate torque from the HP and MPH graph that was in the 1st post, can do the following.

At any given MPH, multiply the MPH times 87.2 . This will give you roughly the RPM at that speed. Example: on the chart at 70 MPH, 70 x 87.2 = 6104 RPM

With this known,

Go up on the chart to 70 mph, look up the HP reading, looks to be ~ 650 awhp

With these two number you can calculate torque from the formula.

HP = T * RPM/5252 Rearranging and solving for T

T = 5252 * HP/RPM

Putting in the numbers from above

T = 5252 * 650/6104

T = 559.3 ft lbs. @ 6104 RPM

There you go. This will work for any HP or MPH point on the graph.
