Well been researching and researching on what cam gears to go with but havent made a decision yet. I hear good and bad opinions about each brand so I want to setup a new poll to help me or anyone else out because the old polls are just old. I am using the vishnu xede and will be using the 05 stage1+ or 03 stage1++ maps soon and the maps require cam gears for a more optimized setup. Also I would like to adjust my powerband in the future so Im pretty much set on getting the gears. So the options are HKS, Fidanza, AEM, Vishnu, Helix, Others. Please vote and/or post your opinions on your gears, how many miles used, any problems associated with the brand of cam gears. Thanks

I believe the Vishnu cam gears are actually Fidanza cam gears with Vishnu etched in the gear. I voted for Vishnu just because their service to me has been top notch. I have heard the HKS gears are worth looking at.

 

I went with the Fidanzas also. I haven't had any problems with them in the 5000 miles I've had them on.

 

Thanks for the vote but our gears aren't rebadged Fidanzas. They are designed and manufactured for use exclusively. We used to sell Fidanzas a year or so ago before we made our own. They are nice gears as well.

In my humble opinion the AEM are by far the best looking. The red gears look killer with the red valve cover. The pinkish purple and blue of the HKS is just ugly, unless you are just going for the JDM thing.

On a performance note, the AEM has 5 locking bolts, while I believe the HKS and some others have only 3. More protection from coming loose. I will never use anything other than the AEM gears. Completely satisfied.

i put some AEM's on my friends evo and the newer design is quite better than previous ones. also had AEM on my 2g but will most likely go with HKS on the evo. they will all do basically the same thing (advance or retard), so i think it just comes down to preference. good luck with your choice.

 

I have Fidanza. Can't go wrong with them.
