mitsu will bump the h.p. to 310 hp
Yeah. Geico is not on my side. They just jacked my insurance on the SV650 by half, too. Another $250/yr. They decided it was faster/more likely to get busted up than they thought. I think 3/4 of that is for the comprehensive. I love all the morons out there helping to raise my insurance. Punks.
Probably time to shop around some.
I'll bet insurance on the Evo will start out the same or lower than on this M3, even though the E36 is relatively slow.

Insurance all depends on the car, the insurance company and the car stats like someone stated, correct? Again ill use this example, my brothers 210 hp eclipse gsx, falls under the category of corvettes. The evo will most likely fall under the category of vettes. A Honda Prelude SH, because of its high theft(for the state of new jersey and the insurance company im with) said id have to pay 6k a year for insurance. Im 21. You always have the option of registering the car as a pleasure vehicle, or if you have an insurance company that splits the insurance with multiple cars....thanks.
since the evo is also a sedan it will be on the lower end of the high end insurance tier.

give it up...
There is NO industry wide standard for Automobile Insurance. EVERY company does it differently.
Example:
State Farm: 98 Eclipse Convertible (gs): $135/mo
State Farm: 01 Integra Type-R: $167/mo
Nationwide: 98 Eclipse Convertible (gs): $108/mo
Nationwide: 01 Integra Type-R: $98/mo
Go figure. This is for a married 28yo, Female (My wife), no tickets, multi-car discount 100/300/100 with Million Dollar umbrella policy (house).
I asked why the difference...and found that EVERY compnay does it differently. My Suggestion, SHOP AROUND, I did.

Read the newest Motor Trend Magazine (cover with SVT Cobra)..... Full article about how 300+ hp Lancer is definitely coming to America at the end of this year!!!!!! Read it, shut your face, and go put down a deposit. However, I'm getting myself a 25th Anniversary VW GTi.... Lancer is supposed to be $28,000-$32,000.......
...and of course, we should ALL believe EVERYTHING that we read, because rumours no longer exist. Just be careful who your sources are. When I start reading about a 'definite' EVO in more than two magazines or TV shows, I will start to believe it. As for specifications, speculation is the word of the day. But of course, this is just my humble opinion. As for insurance... here in B.C., there is only one Government owned insurance agency. No competition. Think it's bad? Not really, except it's a 'guilty until proven innocent' clause to prove a claim. Bah.
