how to clean intercooler?
take it apart and do not blast with water because the core will rust, instead use compressed air or some stuff that does not rust (ex: brake cleaner) be creative. as for the inside I would dampen a lint free rag and put in on the end of a rubber tube and push it in and out of the end tanks if your hands are too big like mine. be creative.

Water will not rust the FMIC
. That was an untrue statement.
Ive always cleaned mine with simple green, let sit for a few minutes then hose down the exterior. Never had it rust before and Ive cleaned it this way on my 1st gen eclipse when it had stock side mount and now its front mount in the last 8 years. If you really want to get down and dirty remove bumper and do a wipe down.
If your not going to takke it off the car: I use a stiff "art type" paint brush to poke through the grill and get the bugs off every once and a while. Just kind of brush them off and a little squirt of water and your good to go. For the inside, dont know.
Intercoolee cleaning
Correct me if I'm wrong but as the intercooler is made of aluminum it will not rust .
I was thinking internally to:
- run hot water with CT-18 truck wash through the same direction as it normally flows.
-rinse with cold water after
-Then run cleaning alcohol through after it sets to get any additional grease that the hot soapy water did not get ?
Assuming that internally the biggest pollutants will be from normal blow by ?
Let me know if this sounds like a good idea because I'm about to start cleaning up my Evo 5

Thanks guys
