I must admit though, at this age a 2 seater seems cool at first, and maybe for the first couple of months.. But when you want to start takeing more then one friend with you, the 350z becomes a pain in the ****.

i have both 350z and evo but i like my evo more for driving aspects and 350z for styling aspects... my '03 350z is my daily whereas my evo is my toy car

lol, its amazing how people don't really know but try to school other members when there mostly guessing, I'm sorry but i can find at least 4 things wrong in this statement. This is one confused child, lets not confound him anymore with false facts.

The EVO came to the US in 2003. The models from 2003-2005 were called EVO VIII (Thats 8 in roman numerals)

Of the EVO 8s there were the base model, the RS, and the MR. I think one year might have had GSR but I dont know much about that.

The base model was...well...the base model. The RS was like the base model except it was stripped down a little to save weight. It doesnt come with a radio, spoiler, it has aluminum roof and hood, and a few other things to save weight.

The MR is the premium model, it came out in 2005. Its still an EVO VIII, its just called the EVO VIII MR edition. It comes with a 6 speed, bilstein suspenion, aluminum hood and roof like the RS, and a 10.5 hotside on the turbocharger which makes it a little faster.

2006 starts the next version of the EVO. It is called the EVO IX (Thats 9 in roman numerals. 9 comes after 8. Get it?) The main new feature of the EVO IX is the MiVEC. I think thats what its called. VTEC is on hondas. Honda developed it first. MiVEC is what mitsubishi named their version of the system.

i wouldn't go as far as saying that 16 year olds can't handle this car, some kids grow up in a household of parents that race or participate in SCCA. This way they might get some expierence at least with go carts or something lol. But this kid is clueless of what an evo even is. If you were more educated about the vehicle you are considering purchasing you might not of been judged so quick. Your like a soldier who forgot his weapon into battle. As far as the child speaking about driving when he was 11, unless you live in mexico you are very immature and i believe it's safe to say a complusive liar. Your rebuttals are so incomphrehsive that when i read them i can't help but laugh and not take what you have to say serious at all. Grow up a little, your 15 years old, you have so much ahead of you last thing you want is the guilt of killing one of your friends showing off or even worse someone innocent that just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I don't mean to burn the host of this thread it's just you have no real idea of the real world. I hope that you just want to get something more sex appealing like a 328i or 330i bmw for example if your going to go the route of a $30+ car.

1.) If you want to add lots of mods to your car, DON'T get the Sti. It takes at least twice as long to do anything on it compared to the Evo. I think you have to take the enginer out of the car to change spark plugs.

2.) If you're new to driving, chances are you're not too familiar with changing gears. It's very likely that you will bugger up the transmission. The Evo has 3 gearboxes (depends on how you count them) so it's going to be expensive if you ram it into 3rd rather than 5th. So don't get the Evo.

3.) We are all likely to have accidents. Hit anything in the Evo or the Sti will cost you a lot of money. The Nissan, with a slightly fewer parts may cost you less.

4.) More girls understand the 350Z. I know several who can't tell the Sti and Evo apart.

Maybe you can relate to me..
I got my evo when i was 16, paid for it myself and modded it heavily before i even hit 17.

Most people on here told me to lay off on the evo till i was older. Back then (2 years ago ) all i could say was "Y00zz FUQQ DEM MANN I CAN HANDLE ITZZ FO SHO!!!!!1111one!" Not really, but I thought that they were all wrong.

Looking back I think that I honestly should have waited. ANY car can kill you, they are all weapons; but the evo, its a different one. A false sense of security because of the awd's grip leads you to believe you can handle any turn at any speed. The evo is a deceptive weapon for an inexperienced driver.

There is a reason why all these guys are saying no. Its not because they dont want you to drive one and they are jealous, they have much bigger things in mind, like your life.

From you name im assuming your an indian kid. So am i. My parents trusted me to use my money wisely, but advised me against it. I bought the car myself and also modded it myself. Looking back on two years of ownership and expenditures, roughly 70% of my cash was spent on the 1st year and 40% the following year. ON JUST MODS AND DOODADS (gas, insurance, helmet, blah blah). From a purely numbers standpoint, putting that much of someones cashflow into a investment that has no return or long term value is just stupid.

If you DO spend 30 grand, buy something nice that is a useful car as a daily driver, the evo isnt practical for high school. 4 doors? so what its just more people killed when you crash while ****ing around. I ****ed around in my car, thought i was hot ****, the works. Take it from me, it really isnt that 'cool'

If you think these guys are all 'old' and that they dont understand you, then try and reconsider. The problem is these guys know us too well. They werent born 25+, they were our age once too.

With all that said, you probably will still end up doing what you want. And if that means your in an evo, please be careful man. Your life isnt worth a stupid 30k heap of metal. The simple fact that these people are advising you the right way can attest to how good hearted they are.

If you have any questions you can just PM me, wish you luck

Nicely put, these are dangerous cars even in the hands of the most experienced drivers. Get something else for a couple of years.
