Rear o2 sensor question.

I was wondering if anyone has ran the stock ecu with out the rear o2 senor pluged in. I might swap a buddy for his cat back exhuast "06 mr" which is setup with the sensor bung off the cat. I have a 05 and I have my downpipe and cat delete, but my cat back hasnt came yet. Im runing at the track this weekend and I was thinking I should use my friends catback exhuast and just not run my rear o2 sensor. I know my closed loop will get out of wack but my open loop under WOT should be fine. I also thought about just droping my cat back and runing downpipe and cat delete only.

Not true. The sole purpose of the rear o2 sensor is to monitor the Cat. to see how effectivly it is working,if at all,and has no other purpose. It does not adjust your fuel trims, that is what the pre-cat o2 sensor is for.
OBDII mandated that the cat must be monitored and that was why the rear o2 sensor was added for,to monitor your cat........

Keep in mind this is for this weekend only. I will have my catback exhuast with the 02 sensor bung in it next week. I just want to run with full exhuast this weekend at the track.

Wrong, the car will not run any differently. Just trips a cell, that's all.

So let me get this straight. If I cut the wires to my rear O2 sensor, with an O2 simulator, and replace it with wideband, all will be peachy?

I just unpluged it and test drove it and let it idle. Only thing I notice is the check engine light no idle problems what so ever. Under WOT the o2 sensor is ignored anyways so I dont think it will affect anything at the track.

Not always true it is really a 50/50 thing, some of our cars today run well with the cell on in fact better due to being in limp mode which is your normal driving skills, and others drive better when you have a 02 sim just depends on what luck you got!

Yes. And if you have any doubts just get sim. You need to remove o2 sensor once anyways.
