Our JUN equiped 2.2L stroked Evos boosting at not even more than 22PSI had created minced meat out of 2.3L and 2.4L stroked Evos here in the Philippines. Our GT-R, only running at 2 bar and a JUN Special RB26DETT race engine and twin HKS3240 made 857AWHP on pump gas!
JUN is damn expensive but after beating all other cars, you will tell yourself you made the right decision =). Not that I am selling JUN products, but based on our experience, they are worth it.
Our usual set-up is JUN + HKS + Garrett + Motec

I love the pics. But I have a few things that I see that bother me. As an Evo enthusiats and tech since they first arrived I see that all of the parts being installed have been tried long ago. 3 issues with lack of expertise in install also.
1. why would you use the standard hose clamps. IC pipes popping off is just poor attention to install.
2. The twin-power DLi-II is mounted and you used the mounting bolt to also ground it. It clearly states in the instructions to not ground it on the mounting bolt .
3. Running a dump pipe 1/2 away from the undertray is nuts. A good raceday and it will melt or possibly catch fire.
As Warrtalon stated and others, the IX gets its higher stock whp from its turbo, ecu (leaner maps), and its MIVEC. An 8 with a simple reflash will be at the same level. The MIVEC is useless with a bigger turbo swap since the rpm power range is pushed up. Bigger cams like 272's will help in a way that MIVEC cant. Therefore an 8 with cams will undoubtebly make more power than a IX with stock cams. Therefore a IX with a bigger turbo will be limited to the amount if air that the stock cams will let through. The HKS 3037 kit has been around for such a long time that its quite outdated. The AMS gt35r kit will breathe better, make much more power and last much longer.
The project is nice in that it showcases the best HKS can offer, but it will be outrun by any average joe that puts his own Evo together. Im not hating on you guys , just pointing out the obvious. Like I stated before, everthing that you are installing has been tried long time ago and has also been left for better set-ups.
The IX will not majically make more power than an 8 with the same setup, in fact less whp since the cams are still stock. This I will bet my reputation on.

I guess Helix test pipe cause we didn't want any catalyzer at all? :P
I have some pictures of an HKS Cat thats over at SP right now, they look REAL high quality. I will post up later.

FYI, the most important thing in a stroker kit is the crank. The AMS crank makes use of a 4G64 crankshaft. JUN manufactures their own and modifies it.
If u want to know more about the JUN stroker kit, read on at www.junauto.co.jp
There was a poll here one time on the best stroker kit and JUN got the most compared to the Tomei, Toda, and AMS. Though it is very expensive, so get ready to dig deep into your pockets.
