I thought you were selling your car for a ix. You wont' be needing that.

here is the customer's dyno sheet with the BLACK IX - this guy Steve

This is what i wrote at the time

"This car has only a

HKS RS INTAKE

Buschur Racing MBC

Dyno Flash ecutek based flash

Here is the car on 93 octane with 20 psi even boost - it holds nearly 20 right to red line "

This same dyno reads about 235 on a stock 03-04' Evo8. Somewhere around 250 on an 05 Evo8.

Btw, he has since edited several of his posts, but one of them on the first page still says 360whp.
He did not make 360 whp

I posted his dyno sheet

His friend witha RED IX was running 100 ocatne and made more power - but that car had a full exhuast

Oh good Lord, this is the guy from a few weeks ago. That's the one where I said I thought the peak WHP was really only 300-302, since there's a glitched spike right at the end that gives it a peak of 316. Yeah, that makes a lot more sense than 360. Maybe the guy is poor with English and mixed up SIXTEEN with SIXTY? Wow, that would make this thread even WORSE. This whole time everyone was thinking that you were most likely at fault due to squeezing out 360whp on pump gas...unbelievable.

I tried, but got no bites on my MR, so I'm just moving forward with what I have. It still is a wonderful car, so I have no reason to be disappointed.

That is the guy - as you can see from the dyno sheet - a nice conservative a/f and nothing dramtaic as usual

The car ran fine for the few days it took to get to the exhuast shop and the ecu was fried some how

After that the put in a new ecu with NO tune- brand new

The car drove away from the no problem

Customer never came back to have the tune re-installed

IIRC dynojet has since released several winpep software revisions.

Im a "newbie" to evos, but not to modded turbos. I'm surprized that noone pointed out that, as soon as the guy put the exhaust on, with less back pressure, he started spiking and holding more boost. Dynoflash AL, you will still have my business sometime next year, on my Evo IX

Keen point, and with the fuel/boost cut removed (standard with flashes), it was able to boost to 25psi unabated while on pump gas.

Another reason why we ALWAYS TELL PEOPLE TO GET A BOOST GAUGE FIRST, especially before getting a boost controller.

This is a valid and good point.

The main concept of a MBC is that you must periodicaly monitor and adjust it.

The two main big things that would have increased boost were

1 - putting stock ecu back in - change to MIVEC MAP more timing advance - more low end spool up and boost

2 - exhuast change - less back pressure

Main idea is to watch the boost and make any changes needed

I do not think he could have hit 25 psi withot hitting fuel cut on the stock ecu

So he was probably riding the fuel cut on and off as he was boosting 25 psi - prob racing someone down the highway - all on pump gas

people really need to research before they decide to mod their car. in any case, always listen to the tuner (esp. someone like al) and dont do anything that you're not sure about. if you fail to understand what you're modding your car with or follow your tuner's instructions, don't complain about things going wrong because of your own imcompetence...

sigh.

wow. he was boosting 25psi on pump and hitting the limiter over and over. im sorry but this kid got what he deserves. and y did he continue to drive the car with a blown gasket? didnt he notice the smoke barreling out the exhaust and a dramatic power loss?

as for AL and pruven, people here might not know u guys but get the record stright, both businesses are fantastic in what they do. big ups to both.
