If you show up and plead not guilty, you'll have to come back another day where the officer will have to show up as well. If your planning on fighting it, you may as well mail in the ticket now and check pleading not guilty. Save yourself a trip.

Ya i just read what you put housedj, dunno how i missed all those post above antonio.. But anyway. Where do i look on my ticket for "pace" or "radar" Doesnt say anywhere on there. And my violation is section 28-708.A
And ya i have to go to court, he even said it himself. "If you dont show up there will be an warrent for your arrest."
And the cop left the "ARS SRC and AR" box's empty. There is nothing there. Just to the left of it with "Section "28-708.A"
Also what does R&P stand for? Its in the "Speed" section, and next to it is the "Posted" and "Approx" boxes. Posted says 25, and Approx says 30. The R&P says 25.

Fight it. Go to court. If the cop does not show then they will drop it. As far as if you fight it and the cop does go, then you can plea the 5 mph over the speed limit. Let us know how it turns out, I am very interested. I really do not think they will keep it as a criminal offense. I think you will be alright.

Once went to fight a ticket and waited all day long. I was the last person to see the judge, and the cop was still not there. Just as the judge was about to dismiss, the judge gets a phone call. It was the cop saying he couldn't make it and I would have to come back. Talk about a crap full of bad luck!

Man I just looked at the speeding ticket I got in Tucson a few months ago, it's the EXACT violation code. So, that means yes you can contest it by mail just plead not guilty, mail it AND you have the option of going to traffic school if you want to go down that route. Personally I wouldn't sweat it much 5mph over is basically a joke.

Haha, I hear JB is gonna tear you up Jeeb. Should be a good run..

the violation ARS28-708 is for "racing on public highway". the A at the end means this:
A person shall not drive a vehicle or participate in any manner in a race, speed competition or contest, drag race, or accleration contest, test of physical endurance or exhibition of speed or acceleration or for the purpose of making a speed record on a street or highway.

did the cop write exhibition of speed on the ticket or street racing? the R&P means required & posted speed for that zone. RIGHT THERE THE COP CONTRADICTED HIMSELF!!!!!!!!!!!. if the r&p is written as 25 in a 25 zone YOU WEREN'T SPEEDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU NEED to go to court, plead not guilty & follow the instructions i gave you in my 1st post. i get off at 5pm today & going to Firebird 2nite. if you need any help with this PM me & i will make arrangements to gather info for your case.

Basically even a sprint from zero to 60 could get convicted of sect. 28-708, however, for some reason I don't think 30 in a 25 zone qualifies as an "exhibition of speed".

H. For the purposes of this section:

1. "Drag race" means either:

(a) The operation of two or more vehicles from a point side by side at accelerating speeds in a competitive attempt to outdistance each other.

(b) The operation of one or more vehicles over a common selected course and from the same point for the purpose of comparing the relative speeds or power of acceleration of the vehicle or vehicles within a certain distance or time limit.

2. "Racing" means the use of one or more vehicles in an attempt to outgain or outdistance another vehicle or prevent another vehicle from passing.

A lawyer fee for a traffic ticket is normally $500. That is nearly the amount my insurance went up after my ticket. Not to mention the $375 fine in addition to the insurnace.

You can always make a meeting with the DA ahead of time just to see if they will toss it out or not.

this never happens in AZ. the speed limits there are already 10-15 mph faster than any other major city so they have been making a killing...

Yep. Cops love that big wing on the back. Another advantage of the RS.

The exact violation the cop right, word for word, was:
Violation: Racing/Exhibition of Speeds
And yes the cop put down R&P: 25.

I do think i need your help for this one.. Any help you could give me would be highly appreciated.
Oh and check your pm.
