Code: P0234

well after i installed the Forge Unos MBC, Forge Type RS Valve, and Buschur Deluxe IC.... i'm getting the SES light....

now when i'm at WOT sometimes it will feel like a sudden drop in power (like hitting a wall) but it does not do this all the time....

i go to discount to pull the code and it said it was "P0234: Engine Overboost Condition"... but i look up the code on here and it says "DTC P0234: Turbocharger Wastegate System Malfunction"

any ideas?

thanks,

- Eddy

The power drop sounds like fuel cut, what are you tuning with? p0234 is a soft code, meaning it wont affect drivability, i threw the code for the longest time until i installed larger injestors. You might want ot try bringing the boost down if you haven't done so yet.

Do you have the new style or the old style Deluxe intercooler? The old ones have slight clearance issues with the wastegate (lower intercooler pipe coming off of turbo going to the intercooler). I bet if you have the old one you bent your wastegate actuator installing it and this is creating a overboost condition. Do you have a boost gauge in the car?

20-21 psi will not make the car hit fuel cut. If you have the new style intercooler then you should not have any fitment issues at all. Try turning your boost controller down a little and see if you experience this same issue. It could be that you just have a bad boost gauge but I doubt it. Often when people install new intercoolers they see a increase of boost anywhere from 1-3 psi and this could be making you hit fuel cut. Like I said though for that to happen your boost gauge would have to be bad and that is unlikely but ive seen it before. Goodluck

Get a tune, i won't even drive my car until i do, well i will have to drive it to AMS, but thats all, its running really lean right now, i took it around the block thats it, AMS will be putting in new injectors and a Walboro, along with a tune. To make it all run smooth, and try to avoid throwing CEL's

at least get a SAFC

Check for boost leaks and/or dirty VAF sensor.
