Yes, the cops are doing their jobs, and they aren't doing anything wrong in pointing out what is illegal or not.

The main issue I have, is HOW they enforce it, and when they choose to assert their authority. They use personal preference in determining who should be pulled over and associate "Street racing" with imported vehicles first as oposed to domestics or cars that they like. This in turn reveals that they let personal preference enter their profession and dictate the use of authority, therefore it would also be in their best interest to interpret the usefullness of the law if they can interpret who and what should be caught and pulled over first. They are people just like us, and if a hose is illegal then we as a country have a MUCH bigger problem at hand. Thats my .02,

As for the otherside of the arguement, there is basically nothing we can do about this except complain to ourselves and then go out and vote, which in most cases unfortunately won't change much either.

move to mississippi. you could have no doors, black smoke, xmas lights for turn signals and a duct tape back window and they'll still let you drive.

I think California is one of the, if not best, places to live in the US.

BTW everyone, it's Kalifornia with a "K."

I'm still waiting for a cop to pull someone over in an Sti or Evo (stock), ask them to pop the hood and have the driver refuse. Then have the driver file a lawsuit with some lawyer working on a contingency basis for illegal search and seizure, profiling, among many other things. Some department is going to go down hard.

Lawyer: "So you impounded a vehicle that was completely stock and arrested the driver?"

Cop: "Yes."

Believe me, it's only a matter of time before this happens. Honestly, I was waiting to do this myself when I first got the car. Of course, my car isn't modded now.

Hindsite is always 2020.

You might all look back in 20 years or so and realize how ridiculous this really is.

In the 1960's ... Harley's and Chopper's owners were harrassed,
as they were all evil Hell's Angels.

In the 1970's ... Low riders were harrassed because they were all
evil gangbangers.

In the 1980's ... Japanese sportbike enthusiast's were harrassed because they were all speed demon canyon racers.

In the 1990's ... All honda drivers were harrassed because they were all street racers.

In the 2000's ... All import drivers were and are still being harrassed because they are all street racers.

In the future ... All modified Hydrogen vehicles are following
emission laws, but are still harrassed.

Funny how history repeats itself.

P.S. In the future Starbucks will be the new hangout for cops because they will sell low carb donuts.

Thats all the cop did, refer to him a carb.

Secondly, all you fools saying stuff like "the only thing he did wrong was no front plate" According to california VC code, your wrong. The exhaust is illegal, the stickers were illegal, the intake WAS illegal unless it has been carb approved.

What don't you people get? Right or wrong, the **** was illegal! Its a cops job to enforce the law, don't like the law, quit your *****ing, vote. Pull the people out of office who enact these laws.

Its not a cops job to interpret the law, determine whether its right or wrong. Its the cops job to ENFORCE the law. And thats exactly what they are doing.

Shut up, and vote.

I will bet anything that you are a government employee in the state of California.

Year 'round road racing at:

California Tracks
Willow Springs International Raceway
Streets of Willow
Laguna Seca
California Speedway ROVAL and infield course
Buttonwillow Raceway
Sears Point/Infineon Raceway
Thunderhill Raceway Park

Nevada Tracks
Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch
Reno-Fernley Raceway
Las Vegas Motor Speedway outside road course

Arizona Tracks
Firebird International Raceway
Phoenix International Raceway

All of these tracks are within a one-day drive of my house, and four of them are 2 hours or less away. No snow (except Reno), so we run all year 'round. Why do I live in California . . .

The minimal hassles I have gotten for "DAE" ("Driving An EVO") in Calif., aren't really that bad, just deal with it.

Fair enough, but I want to know why it is illegal to have those specific items, as outlined in the video. Does anyone know, for example, why the variable timing belt thing is against the law? Are there legitimate emission-related reasons or are those things illegal simply because they are associated with street racing?

Haha, that guy looks like chuck norris.

EDIT: For all of those that are in question, go to your local police department and ask , they will be glad to tell you why ________ is illegal.

So can I be pulled over because I have a large wing common with "Street Racing" vehicles even though it is completely stock? Next thing I know they'll be telling me it's an obstructiong in my rear windshield like stickers.
