Brett, apparently you misunderstood my first post. I’m not quite sure what you have against me, or why you feel the need to ridicule me for not seeing things your way. If you’ll look at my first post I asked a rhetorical question. I understand you know Eric @ XS and feel the need to defend your friend, but jeez man, just let it go and move on. Believe it or not, not everyone sees things the same way you do.

I have nothing against you. You have repeatedly missed my point, and I asked to move on SEVERAL times. (must be the generation gap) You should see things my way, respect your elders!
I'm not defending a friend, just the middle man. Feel free to get the last word in...I'm done.
Well, i think ime done......this is what i ended up with. 104 unleaded spiking to 30+ psi. Still trying to get the AEM to get rid of that spike. Will revisit it next week. I think i like this setup. The dotted line is with the K&N, the solid is with a 4" velocity stack. 444 HP with filter, 455 w/out filter. 21.8 psi@4200RPM. Yep, car runs nice!!!! REAL NICE!!!!

Yeah guys, I changed my underwear after Ray gave me a ride on his Evo on Sunday
(Sorry if I offend anyone), his car is mean as hell, we went for a test drive, two people(me and him) A/C on and 105 degrees outside in the middle of the desert, that car pulls very strong. You need a quieter exhaust Ray...This car spools up very fast for its size, the turbo lag is not noticeable because the car actually pulls hard even at low boost.
Ray, I am not buying the AEM solenoid that you have on your car bro, I think that is hurting you all around. To be honest I would connect that great Hallman MBC that you have on your valve cover left corner.
You already tried the GM retardant boost solenoid, I also suggested a copper ball bledder to help stabilize the boost spikes.
Try the MBC first. Also, you are helarious bro, so your current air filter is not big enough? how big is that thing already 12" long?
I am really happy to see your car running fast again, I think you got it right this time. No more faulty boost retention due to destoyed Cat (I still have the pics).
Time to show who's the fastest Evo in town Ray, you will have your chance next week at Street wars at SIR.

Nice change in power! Sure would like another shot a tuning the car without the cat on it!
The AEM boost control works better than any manual at getting the boost to come in quickly. The problem is the feedback..........is troublesome. If you set it up to run just one boost level it will work very good.

Ray,
I am glad to see that you car is running awesome finally. Cant wait to see that thing at the track... hopefully you dont have the same damn ACT issue that I had running the track. I hope that we can get my car running just as good now that I have my AEM on the way. I have a feeling we are going to have a long day coming up sometime on a couple of twin disc installs
haha.

Ray,
IFR (in lbs/hr) = BSFC * HP / (# of Injectors * .8)
Real brake specific fuel consumption. Keep in mind that the end value is 100% Duty cycle so Multiply by .8 and you get a resonable size injector that is larger than the one you are running.
Ps --When are you coming back up?

On my opinion I agree with you about the one single boost set up, unfortunately and due to where he lives he will have hard time living with a single boost set up.
He lives in the middle of the Arizona desert and it gets 120 plus degres in the summer and it gets below 30 in the winter, I was at his house not even 3 months ago and there was snow on his yard. I was there 2 days ago and it was over 105 degrees. His boost could and will fluctuate as much as 2-4 psi and that is a concern to me because he will have to adjust his boost eventually.
Despite the AMS being a good boost controling mechanism he will have the issue of extreme temperature plus he still has the spike boost issue.
He is already running the GM boost solenoid but that is not enough, I suggest he also gets a copper ball bledder to stabilize the boost as well.
just my .2c

Your turbo crushing the air filter due to excesive intake suction was simply as bizarre as funny, I never seen a filter and a filter clamp getting crushed by extreme suction force
, it was just insane....By the way please don't miss street warriors next week at SIR.
Carlos
Carlos,
Yea that filter was pretty nuts rite? haha. I hope to make the thing at sir we shall see. I am awaiting my aem ems, it should be here on Friday so i can get tuned soon. As for clutch I am not sure what I want to do yet. Still gonna figure that one out..
I have some work to do on it but i dont see any reason the car shouldnt be a decent amount over 500whp on a mustang. We shall see
