What's with all this cloak and dagger nonsense on the PowerFC? I'm sure a lot more people would be using it if the software was available to the "average Joe" tuner and users didn't have to F- around with all this password crap. Oh well, Apexi's loss I guess.

So let me get this straight now, in order to rectify all this PJ has to drive his car to XS to have the password removed? Or else he'll have to change to a different EMS like AEM? What a pain in the ***.

Anywho, I'm glad you made some good numbers Ray. I wanted to stop by Vivid on Saturday but I got sunburned at golf and I didn't feel like going out after that. I was supposed to meet up with AJ, but he never called me, and I'm guessing he never came anyway...

No. If you would have read the entire thread you would have seen that is not the case. A new map can be built with the software, but the map that is in there can't be modified without the password (unless you use the commander). It was a time constraint situation on building an entirely new map.

It's no big deal, but for some reason EVERYBODY wants to beat it to death.

I did read the entire thread. My bad. I forgot how convenient it is to start tuning over from scratch!! But I guess that's no big deal, right?

DId you read this post?

I think Dave didn't have time to build the map from scratch so it was not an option. XS protects their maps (as would I) and wouldn't give that password out to Apexi if they asked for it. It was nothing against Dave I can assure you.
I don't know why you wanna stick your nose in here, but since you have and asked a question that pertains EXACLTY to this post...feel free to read it again.

Yes it was "your bad".

And to answer your question, no..it's not a big deal to build a new map, but Dave didn't have time that day.

In general it's "not a big deal," but since everyone knows how often DB comes to Phoenix... yeah

bdiddy,

dude just chill man. Doug has every rite to be in here talking about this cuz he is one of my buddys and this is my car...so just let it be man. on another note i am decently pissed off at XS for not giving it out esp. since its not even their map in there anymore. On top of that david would not try to steal a map being that he is one of the best evo tuners in the world IMO. Honestly I would never take my car to XS to tune my car because they wont tune alcohol and told me they didnt want to tune a staggered cam setup. That to me looks like they just like to tune certain things. To me a tuner should be educated well enough to tune anything. Dont get me wrong their customer service was awesome and troy is a really nice guy. This whole exp is making me want to get rid of the crap FC. Its gettin so frustrating cuz i dont have the money to keep doing this **** esp since i spent close to $1000 at mynes to have my car almost blow up!!! now i have to save up extra cash to have Mitch fix this whole situation.... and i know he will.
thats my .02

Hmm, well I know for a fact that wasn't me because I didn't drive the Evo at all on Saturday. I drove my beater Civic to go golfing and then came straight home. That about sums up my day! I have seen another BBY around town with bronze wheels and vii tails though, could have been that guy. I wish I would've sucked it up and come down to Vivid to hang with you guys though. doh!

Yo Ray. Hmmm... Sometimes I'm right. Good to hear!

PJ, I don't need to chill at all...I've asked others to let it be...and quite honestly it's amazing this is still going on. Hey, by the way, why don't you give me your password for the Evo M board, well...it may be because it is possibly your password for your online Credit Card or your bank account, or who knows. (by the way...not a good idea )That was a point you guys kept glossing over. Feel free to take it out on XS, but what they did in no way would have upset me if I was in your shoes. Just an FYI. The PFC is a great unit, so I wouldn't dump it because of a "Saturday gone bad".

I have helped out a lot of guys that have come up from Tucson and always will. I just felt you guys were going a little overboard about the password crap. It's all good.

Brett
