Bass - Rattles ???

I have a 12" sub (sealed box) in the boot and the whole underneath boot area rattles alot from outside the car and also the back bumper too. What can I do to stop the rattling occuring other than to remove the sub, which is being played low. I just want some clarity sound but without the horrible rattles from the outside. The bass cannot be heard from the outside except the rattling.

Please advise how to get rid of the rattling???

Cheers!

Oracle

some dynomat or other sound suppression material applied to the areas where the noise is coming from will help to suppress it.

It may not completly take it away, but it will help keep the road noise out, reduce/stop vibrations, and keep the music in the car....

the most rattling I got was from the license plate. Dynomated it, now it's 10x better.

/\ haha, there is one solution. But if you match the right sub with the right enclosure and make sure your license plate is secure, then you shouldnt have any rattles.

I have a cf trunk with a 8" polk momo sub in a custom enclusre made from the stock infinity enclosure (I will post pics up on this later) without any vibrations/rattles and the total package is less than 10 lbs...

So, dynamating the inside trunk should cure the rattles. Will the dynamat stop the back bumper from rattling too when applied on the inside trunk? Or do I need to do to something else to the rear bumper?

Here is a idea i had , put the sound in the cab not the trunk , i see a lot of box bilt as tall and wide as they can be to fit in between the fender wells/under the read deck lid . Then you have your sub firing into your trunk witch is all most 100% sealed off due to a big box so the bass is pounding in you trunk , trunk is rattleing like h3ll and you now have a getto evo . Here is some pics of what i did to over come this ...

With this set up i have had NO trunk rattles at all , I did one day trun the box around facing the rear just to see what it would sound like and it sounded like 100% a$s , like a freaking jackhammer was beting on my trunk . So the only rattle i have had while facing the sub forward is the dash(front dash)

probably not because it is your bumper clips that are more than likley rattling..not the bumper itself. But you could try dynomatting that surface and it will help deaden the vibrations...

Could it be the flapper vents inside that little compartment on the left side of the trunk? I hear those rattle everytime I shut a door with the windows up.

I have 2 10" subs in a ported box, and it's just the rear license plate frame that rattles. It might be the rear license plate instead of the whole rear bumper for the vibrations. +1 for Dynomat, works great even though i'm currently not using any.
