Use a 3 wire electronic 02 simulator.
You will still need the sensor plugged in so the ECU will read the heater wire resistance to know that the sensor is still functional. You can zip tie it underneath the car in a safe location. The sensor gets very hot so it's better if you don't put it inside.

I've had the Perrin o2 sim on my car for several thousand miles and it works great, it probably wasn't hooked up right if it didn't work.
