Goodbye EVO goodbye Mitsu....
well, i hear your pain brother. everyone has a right to a discision, i havent went through all 11 pages but i did read the first post that you were tired of the evo and decided to leave the mitsu world. but as far as hopping over to VW land, dude i heard one to many horror stories as well about them. good luck with everything though.
Just let this tread die!!
Let those who buy cars for it's warranty chose their prefered car warranty.
For those who did not buy Evo because of warranty, let us enjoy the engineering marvel from Mitsubishi. Because this may be one of the last supercar from japan.

I have no problem with the thread dying BUT after 12 pages of people telling what I did wrong AND that I purchased the wrong car I'd like to see what everyone WOULD have done and what car they would have purchased.

As I mentioned All-Wheel is a must and at least the basic luxuries like a Sun-roof are a must. That locks out SRT-4 and STI.
Once you lock it down to All-wheel the choices are VERY limited.

basically he wants a reliable AWD high performance car with a sunroof and luxury that has and a solid honorable warranty with no hassle...? something not very common.
so buy an STi and cut a sunroof into it

All this said, you probably expected much of reaction you received. I can't blame you for posting and having some fun with this. I think that you know as well as I do that this forum is mostly populated by lifestyle buyers; kids whose main orientation lies in the Sport Compact scene - pilots they are not <grin>. Street cred and bragging rights all take precedent.

I can' be believe that agriculturally inspired machinery like the Cobalt and a SRT-4 are mentioned in the same breath as the Evo and R32. It's as if actually driving the car takes second place to looking at its specs.

jesus... get over your whole negativity towards "lifestyle buyers", more than half the people that buy cars are "lifestyle buyers". you have beaten that topic to death in numerous threads

FJF .
Youre a person who likes to place stereotypes on people and You make it out to seem like every single young kid that has an evo with a wing or that in not an RS is the bad guy. Why are you so intimidated by us young kids that have cars that are just as nice as yours ? or is that youre reasoning in itself ? Are you frustrated by the young kids who have the same car and are in the same class as you ? grow up.
from a previous thread...
The Evo attracts two kinds of buyers - the high-performance buyer and the lifestyle buyer. The lifestyle buyer is relatively young, thrives on the Evo's street cred, concerned with fitting in, impressing his friends and being noticed, measures his success in the Stoplight Grand Prix or in a no-skill contest of stupidity like a highway pull, likes the bragging rights associated with high horsepower numbers, and tends to mod his car cosmetically as per the status quo in his community. Those are the guys that we often perceive as automotive pussies. That's because they're really pedestrian drivers who happen to have very capable cars.

But anyways I don't think it's such a good idea to get ready for a car that no one really has any solid details on. For all we know the new m3 could be really bad (doubt it but it's possible).
