(i eventually found South Coast Mitsu from here and they are just awesome

r32 is a good car...more of a compromise btwn performance and comfort obviously. good luck with the r32.
i'm think i'm not the only one here who sometimes wish that a car as awesome as the Evo isn't sometimes ruined by its creator being Mitsu. the company sometimes just act like they dont need/want customers.

Ha I love it. How cool would a 300+HP AWD IS300 with SMG be?

To each his own. I have 2 years or 27K warranty to worry about timing belt/chain issues. Not sure you read but Evo=sold R32=bought
I can't tell the future but I can learn from the past. Both are great cars and who knows what the future will bring for the R32 (or my former Evo for that matter). The cars compare very favorable in my mind and for roughly the same $$ its a hard deal to beat. I'll miss some of the raw performance of the Evo but I'll welcome the luxuries of the R32. In any case please understand I liked my Evo and this is in no way a slam against that car. Unfortunately my situation with my dealership and Mistu left me with no practical or financially sound choice. I'll miss parts of the Evo but the R32 is a blast also. Read any of the reviews or check one out. It's no slouch even compared to the Evo. In any case I feel bad for Mistu and the dealership but I can't live in an such an abusive relationship so I'm out. If anyone buys a new Tarmac on the east coast let me know....it may be mine. I welcome any other comments or criticism and I will be checking this thread and any others to see who buys my evo. Have fun with your Evos, be careful and good luck. Again...thanks to everyone I spoke with and worked with over the last three years on Evom...It has been very helpful having this resource for my former Evo. Its been fun and as much as I hate to see it end this way it is what it is.
Ironically enough I just ran into an employee of the dealership tonight who was more than surprised to hear my plight. Even more ironic, this person has a great connection to the overall service manager at the dealership....I suspect some Sh^&t is coming his way next week.
Sad that in the end their near sighted-ness and unwillingness to part with $500 will cost them so much more. Good luck guys....

I hope a few of the old DSM hands are around to read this weepy post. I remember one guy writing that he and a buddy wanting to sell a DSM decided that it would sell better if it had the turbo engine. So they swapped one in. The next day a potential buyer comes along; wants the car for his daughter but without the turbo engine. So they swap it back to how it was before. Car guys are great. Nuff said.
dealerships are dumb because when i go for warranty work to honda they are glad and even though they know your wrong they still fix it because they make money off warranty work.....

My Mitsu/dealership headaches are in another thread on here but sufice to say after the way Mitsubishi and the dealership both dealt with me my choice was clear. In the end a 15-year Mitsubishi driver and a 10-year customer of the dealership was not worth $500 to either, despite my intentions to buy an Evo X and despite the fact that they tied up my car for 8 days and 6 days overnight!
Sad to say but the Evo is simply so jaded warranty-wise that it becomes an impossible car to own once it is out of warranty.
I've always used the analogy that the Evo is like a thoroughbred race horse....it runs fast but I don't want to own it when it breaks a leg and I have to shoot it. Well that time has come.
In the end I am embarassed to own a Mitsu based on how Mitsu treated a long time customer and I am embarassed to have anything to do with the dealership based on how they treated a long time customer. It was apparently not worth $500 to them to have me buy a $40K Evo X.
I will never buy another Mitsubishi and I will avoid this dealership like the plague. As of last week my Evo has been sold and I've replaced it with a car that will work out much better and is a blast to drive (and much easier to live with on a daily basis).
For everyone out there in Evom I say goodbye and thanks for your help over the years. Good luck to those who keep their Evos and even more luck to those that keep them beyond their warranty period.

And just because you don't own an Evo (any longer) doesn't mean you can't continue to be enthusiastic about them and take part in the joy of discussing some great cars! I'm the living proof!

Good point...perhaps if time allows I'll stick around.
Good luck with the R32 its a great car as well. Problem wise there about the same. R32 is way harder to work on and parts are harder to get and alot of times more expensive. I dont care about warranties thats why we have our EVO's I do all the work on these things myself. They're a breeze to work on parts are readily available. Id never let a dealer touch any performance car excluding a ferrari, or Lambo they do more harm than good. You made a good decsision if you dont work on your own stuff. If you did youd still have your EVO cause that master cyl/Brake booster job could have been fixed easily and alot cheaper if you did it your self. Plus you would not have bouht that R32 for fear of having to work on it. Mitsu service is the worst but I knew that prior to buying my EVO and hers. I had an Integra a while back that had issues that could have probably been fixed under warranty but I'd never let anyone else but me touch my car. (excluding friends and Adam at Boosted Solutions) (Thanks for the help on the clutch install man)
