I agree. It is my hope that ALL of this helps other Evo owners. They have always been helpful to me so I hope this gives back in some way.
diamond in the rough! that will be one lucky owner. how much was it traded or sold for? that brake issue would have been an easy fix

The car was WELL taken care of so yes it will be a great car for someone to get.
It went to auction and lets just say it did WAY better than any previous 2003 that came through all year. I was surprised and very happy with what I got for it.

I agree the brake issue SHOULD have been an easy fix.

+1

My g/f has a 02 Jetta and when it came to warranty work, she was in there and out, no problems. When I had to take in my (at the time) 02 Lancer for warranty work, I got the run around. They blame me for the engine problem (car was stock). Told me I had no warranty, when they found my warranty, said it could take months to fix. Than wanted me to replace the motor, WTF? I got out the car, hopped into a ralliart and everything has been ok so far (knock on wood), besides the MAF burned out and they deny my warranty... a problem im going through right now, grrrrr. Why am I getting a IX? In hopes this mitsu will go fine, but who knows...

I also took the g35 in for warranty work on the brakes, since they scream like a pregnant worman, Got in there, check them (replace them FREE) and out... no problem.

BTW, I feel bad for this thread. Dude has to defend himself against other evo owners because he hop out of his car because of a bad sitution. People, get off his back... geez. He got a new car, it's not the end of the world. Drive your problem free (knock on wood) car, and worry about that.

Don't feel bad. I've been ready to get rid of my Evo for a while now. I want luxury with passing power. Lexus IS350 is what I really want. Slap some rims on it, and enjoy comfortable leather, wood grain, and a navigational system, as well as a nice and smooth ride. I can't wait.

i only had time to read the first 2 pages of this thread...but i feel sorry for the OP and the sh*t he had to put up with Mitsu.

i had problems with Mitsu dealership (puente hills) around my house and Mitsu corp. when i was still a potential Evo buyer...and all i wanted was a freakin brochure for the Evo! i whined about that on a thread here...most ppl didnt like my rant either. (i eventually found South Coast Mitsu from here and they are just awesome )

r32 is a good car...more of a compromise btwn performance and comfort obviously. good luck with the r32.

i'm think i'm not the only one here who sometimes wish that a car as awesome as the Evo isn't sometimes ruined by its creator being Mitsu. the company sometimes just act like they dont need/want customers.

Yeah; it's all a matter of preference, but I just absolutely love shifting for myself, even at low speeds.

I've had maybe 12 cars in my life and I've been driving for about 25 years, and every one of my cars has been a manual. I just love them. For that reason, I would get the IS250, even though its ***** are smaller.

I don;t do any of my own work so I suspect I won;t be changing a timing belt in the driveway....under warranty.

Lets not start comparing recalls or known major issued on the R32 to the Evo.

Dude you're actually pretty hostile. If I kept the Evo I'd be F&*&(cked.

If you don't like the car don't buy it. I don't have ANY payments on the car and it IS under warranty.

If we were in vegas would anyone be betting the odds of the Evo breaking over the R32?

I LIKED my Evo. It WAS a fun car. I'm relieved it is gone and I'm HAPPY with the R32 (even if YOU think it is a POS).
Timing Belt... it doesn't have one, Note; I said chain
Don't buy it... I owned one

Jeff: VW has had terrible quality control and corruption problems over the last decade. Their chairman recently admitted this to Automobile Magazine. (FWIW, their executives have even been busted for using company funds to buy ******.) Their cars have ranked below Eastern European brands in European quality surveys. These are all demonstrable facts.

So what you say does not surprise me. What I want to know is, are they improving in the most recent years, as their chairman has committed to do? Or is it too soon to say?

In short, I suspect and hope that VW will be better with every passing year, at least for the near term, but is it happening yet? Thanks.

Thank you. I hope that IF I have any VW issues I'll be treated well...and yes I agree. I started this post to thank everyone who helped me in the last year or three...and to hopefully help anyone else in this situation. I feel bad defending myself especially since I really LIKED my Evo.

And just wait until the SMG becomes readily available....Lexus has it, Mitsu will have it, BMW has it and even VW is supposed to have it soon. Best of both worlds fo rme.
