Question Boost spike...

just installed my boost gauge last week...I've got a totally stock IX (cept for KN drop in) and I was peaking at 20psi (defi bf)...the other night it was really cold so I did some WOT pulls and afterwords my gauge said i peaked at 22psi. Is this normal/ok? I though IXs spiked at ~20? Again I am totally stock so I haven't messed around with anything under the hood.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the car runs better in colder temperatures. It is supposedly better for the turbo.

Boost on turbocharged cars'll vary depending on changes in ambient temperature, humidity, the barometer, and altitude. So yeah, the 2# increase in boost pressure when temps drop, is normal.

cold air is more dense air (more oxygen per volume), it's good for any type of engines, turbo or NA. cold air is specifically good for turbo because the intercool work more efficiently, you can run higher boost without chance of detonation.
