Maybe this will help. A dealership near me sells brand new evo IX's with:
Catback Exhaust Systems,
Upper intercooler pipe,
Manual boost controler,
Custom ECU flash, and an
Air filter kit.
They are supposedly rated at 340+hp (~310 at the wheels) or something close to that (I have not had mine dynoed...yet
)
you still get every single portion of your regular 100k warrenty, except they will have nothing to do with clutches. But they are very up front about this.

not completely true. i was a service advisor at one of the biggest nissan dealer in the
tri-state. warranty brings in work. u cant have customer paying job all the time.
warranty keeps everybody bz and we can always try to sell something extra
like low brake pads, or fluids that were never changed. warranty is a good thing
for the dealer but MITSU as a company hates it. probably bcuz they're not doing
so well overall and thats why some dealers even have limits on how much warranty
they can perform during the year.

Go to mitsubishi and say the following. " You are violating the Mangusson-Moss Act of 1975 by denying any warranty claims on my vehicle, as my lawyer states. I will file charges against you, your denying personnel, and the entire mitsubishi corporation for violation of this law. I am asking you one last time, as legalities demand, to cover my vehicle in this time of need. You KNOW my vehicle has had similar problems during the time it was factory equipped. You are breaking laws by denying me further and I will make you pay. "
we should make this a big issue next meet @ mod, (mits owners day); i guess its more popular in socal. but it's held @ the mits corprate bldg. it would be like a meet and protest at the same time. if that doesn't get their attention idunno what will.

Please do.
Everyone, I am pursuing a legal action now.
i had the same conversation as well about my stock clutch...had some minor recall done on the tranny. while they had it out the installed an aftermarket flywheel and clutch for free!!
Try to Warranty or suck it up and pay?
Hey Guys,
Got my IX a couple of months ago. Since day 1 i have had a slight grind from 2-3 shifts. Only happens when im in boost and shifting above 3500rpm. Its not bad but its getting annoying and Im affraid it only going to get worse. I took it to the dealer when I first got it and they tolm me "Its fine, that is how evos are". The problem is its only in shifting from 2-3. I am now pretty heavily modded, all the bolt ons and meth injection.... I still have my warranty. Should I risk taking it into the dealer cause sometimes they warranty evos even though they are modded or should I just bite the bullet and pay for the synchros even though its been this way since day 1? Any suggestions? How much would it run me to have the syncho replaced myself? Thanks.

You can put it back to stock and see if they will fix it, or suck it up and pay, I guess it depends on your wallet and level of honesty
. To me the saying that all Evo's do that is incorrect and I wish you had forced them to fix it then oh well. Best of luck!

if you take you car the way it is now modded that's a big NO NO, now if u take everything out and you go stock you have a chance...if you wanna take care the bill probably is going to cost you around $2,500.00 or less.
I would take it in and get it warranteed. It won't hurt to try. If you're really worried about them refusing (its a pain but) put your stock stuff back on. There's also a possibilty that you could find a dealership in Oregon that is mod friendly and will warrantee your car anyway- I know we have one in California. Apparently the dealer makes money on warrantee work regardless of the circumstances.
