Bland interior (JDM ones get the option for nav and auto climate controls)
Squeaky interior and rattles
Weak clutch
No cruise control
I want frameless doors

However, all that has payed off when I got the 335i.

Well, the other night I was thinking about them while waiting for my car to warm up and was wondering what everyone else on here thinks.
Here goes a list of what "I believe" Mitsubishi should've fixed/changed before the car ever hit the showroom floor:

1. Express Windows. The car only comes with one-touch down express for the driver's side window. Why not express up and down on ALL four windows? I mean c'mon Mitubishi. Would it cost you THAT much to include that in? It's a $37K car(MR) for crying outloud.

2. Clock. If the sun is out, so is the time.

3. Onboard display. All it shows is your Odometer & Trip. It would be really useful if they included MPG & Range. Then again, I might not want to know my MPG with the mileage im currently getting.

4. Carbon Fiber. On a car like this, they should've used "real" carbon fiber atleast on the dash, E-brake lever, & shift knob.

5. Climate system. Comparing it to the JDM version, the one they sent over for us Americans seems primitive. From the "Auto" feature to the actual look(nobs) of it, the JDM system looks alot better. Our version looks like they got it from a Second-Gen Eclipse extra parts bin over at the plant. Speaking of Eclipse, anyone see the climate system on the new one? Keep in mind how much MORE the Evolution costs, it just doesn't make sense. Why put an inferior part on the superior sports car? Anyway, moving on.

6. Boost Gauge. (Mitsu gauge kit). It would've been nice if it read PSI instead of Bar. Would just be alot easier for some of use.

7. Sun Visor. I think this is the only car currently in production in the 21st century that doesn't have lights around the sun visor's mirrors. Not a big deal but you know.

8. Paint. As most of you know already, the paint on this car is not something to rave about. It seems very thin. Washing the car & getting certain marks out seems like a mission.

9. Brembo Brakes. The brakes are wonderful and you could'nt ask for anything better, but it's really annoying when you get a rock in your Caliper and it starts making that really loud squeeking noise. There must've been a way to avoid this? Maybe a stone-guard type thing?

10. Audio System. The stock audio system on the car pretty much stinks. Mitusibishi could've made it Sirius/Xm compatible or MP3 CD playable atleast.

Anyway those are ten flaws or inconveniences IMO that the Evolution has. Did they prevent me from getting the car? Hell no
I still think it's one of the greatest cars you can buy under $50K. It's the only one that is capable of putting a smile on your face every time you drive it, no matter how long for.
1. Most new vehicles are like that.
2. I dont have any problem except of its color. it shouldve been red/orange.
3. MPG, thats nice, but I think, that belongs to something like TL, TSX, CAMRY, etc...
4. Hell Yes!
5. Its much easier to modify it. Ex. relocating radio for the gauges. But then again, they have engineers, they shouldve thought of that too
6. Dont care. dont have the MR
7. Thats one of the first thing I checked when i first got in an Evo, was lil disappointed.
8. +1111111111
9. squeeky sounds
10. They know, we're going to mod anyways, so why bother

All in all, i still love it. Im still young and not really interested on luxuries right now.

No cruise control??
No auto trunk??
Only express window down and not on other cars???
Insurance, payments??

Give me a break, you ALL knew what you were getting into with an Evo, and even after you call complain, you all still LOVE the EVO. I came from a 91 GTi, no cupholders, all roll down windows and sunroof crank, but I still miss that car like crazy!! For the price, you get a performance car, not luxury, still wouldnt trade it for anything, except for a IX, soon to be! Not knocking on the thread, but I'm sure everybody has complaints about there cars, even the new Beamer 335i, I'm sure they'll be haters, oh, it's not AWD, etc...I'll stick with the EVO

This thread is awesome! It gives me insight as what to look for when I get my IX this year. Good complaints, though.

I totally Agree w/ that one. Most of the time, I don't even realize how fast I'm actually going.

Just thought I would point out one rattle I found and fixed today.

The plastic front under tray (god I hate removing those damn plastic rivets) has a small U shaped metal bracket in the center just below the down pipe. You have to take off the center part of the under-tray to see what I am talking about. Anyway Mitsu in their infinite wisdom decided to use those same crappy plastic rivets to hold a metal bracket to the cross-member. If you remove the plastic rivets and replace them with a small bolt & nut on each side... problem solved. Bye bye rattle!
