Problem with my defi oil pressure gauge

I have 3 defi gauges the oil pressure is the only one that constantly gives me a warning signal. I adjusted the warning that didn't do anything. Anybody have any ideas on what it can be?

Where did you install the adaptor/sensor? If you did it off the block then you're going to read low. A few people on here have had the same problem with the warning sensor going off being installed there.

If you install it down by the filter, then it will read higher and won't trigger the warning light as much.

Maybe the sensor needs cleaning.

So if it reads lower than the gauge displays it will trigger the warning signal? My mechanic installed it somewhere near the upper intercooler piping.

That's because until you start the car, you have no oil pressure.

(1) What do you have it adjusted to?

(2) Is it holding the adjustment after you turn the car off?

Am i supposed to set the warning below average oil pressure? I think that's where I may have gone wrong.

1. I had the needle maxed because i was so annoyed of the buzzing i thought there's no way my pressure would go all the way to max. Also I was used to how the rest of the defi's work where it warns you when you reach a certain point. After searching I noticed everyone is setting "low" warning levels so maybe this is where I went wrong.

2. Yes, the link is connected correctly it holds all my memory.

I have mine set at 12 and it's fine.

If you would like the oil pressure gauge to turn on only when the car is at ON instead of the ACC position do the following (emphasis on Step #2).

(1) For the red wire (constant 12v power) - tap to red wire of the ignition harness (or red/black of radio harness).

(2) Orange (ignition) - tap to green wire of ignition harness.

(3) White (illumination) - tap to green wire of cigarette lighter.

(4) Black (ground) - tap to black wire of cigarette lighter.
