Evo Keys??

I have noticed that my evo 's keys are bent/ rounding. I dont think I turn the keys too hard when Im starting the car. Anyone else have keys that are bending? I havnt droped them or sat on them or anything. Im just going to be sure to turn the car over with a soft touch from now on.

Isnt there a chip in the black part of the key..... how is it to have another key made for this car?

Just a weird thread......
respond if you wish.

Is there a chance you sat on your keys in your pocket? I think that would be more likely to bend the key than if you turned it too vigorously in the ignition.

My keys are straight...and I start up my car at least 4-6 times each day....and I'm pretty hamfisted with the key...

SC~

If you keep breaking/bending keys, tape the head of one of your keys to your steering column, and use a generic key from the hardware store. This will enable your car to be hot-wired though. This is a practice that started with installing remote starters on cars with transponders in the key.

Mongo break key... Mongo sorry...

Heh... seriously though, not even a sign of wear on mine yet, daily used and working on 5K miles now. Maybe you are mentally picturing your turning the key as helping to turn over the crank in the motor... just let it go, be one with the car... its a feng zen shui thing...

One thing I sure you already know, but when wheel is locked turn a little then start your ride. Maybe your just so strong keys are not strong enough for you

Hummm ,, maybe its just me. Im sure I have never sat on my keys... I have many keys and they simply wont fit in my pocket.

I was just checking to see if we have some weak metal in our keys.... I guess not. O well i have another key if this one gets too bananna shaped. Until then Im starting the car like the english drink their tea ,,,,, very lite , and with my pinky pointing upwards
