Anyone here wish they didnt buy an evo?
The only reason I regret my purchase was because I found out after I bought it used, that it had been wrecked by the previous owner! My bad for not running a carfax on it before the purchase... You can't tell by looking or driving it, other than i noticed pieces of tape behind the bumper to cover the mesh when it was being painted.
I had an 03 WRX with a 2.5L swap before this car, that I unfortunately wrecked... so I guess it's karma coming around to bite me in the ***!

was thinking that i, too, was getting tired of my evo - getting high in mileage, not able to take it to auto-x/ track, pretty much an overdone dd...however, after losing my keys temporarily yesterday and having to drive my wifey's matrix to work, definitely enjoyed to ride better today...
hopefully i won't ever take my evo for granted ever again!

It's not so much about wishing we bought something else, It's about being a car guy. Anyone that really likes cars will never be happy with owning just one for years and years. At least that is my problem. I wish I could afford to own 10 different cars to meet each ideal driving experience I crave. Unfortunately I have neither the garage space or deep pockets to pull that off. So for me, I have to be content owning 1 car (and a beater truck). I bought the EVO because of its performance and versatility. Its hard to beat 4 doors, AWD, great handling, good speed, and nice seats.
But, I am afraid I will get bored with the experience eventually. I know I will eventually feel the need to purchase something else. For now, the EVO is keeping me happy but I can hear the car buying demons knockingafter 18 months. For now I am not listening, but eventually I will let them in because of my addiction to cars. I really like the EVO compared to the 20 something other cars I have previously owned. But in the pursuit of automotive ecstasy, I know I won't keep it forever. Everyone is different, but I just can't be satisified with the same car for years and years. As new cars come out, the demons will get the best of me. I would rather put my money into a new ride then spend countless dollars upgrading an existing ride which as we know adds no real resale value.
