Anyone here wish they didnt buy an evo?
All you have to do is find a road like the Tail of the Dragon- drive the wheels off of the car and you'll love it again. 318 curves in 11 miles and 1011 ft height difference from start to finish is fun in the evo, not so fun in other cars- that will refresh your memory as to why you bought the car you bought
i think the same thing while i watch people drifting their rwd cars, then the thought goes away when i see those rwd cars in the ditch or the garage in the winter. call me a ricer or whatever but drifting looks like fun
Everyone wishes there were on the other side of the fence. Drifting and top end is as far as RWDs go. Drifting is fun but you'll be sorry when you have to replace tires quite quickly (and you thought the evo's ate up fast?), not to mention its just for fun, I saw a track lap of a RWD drifting STi, a track STi and a stock STi. The Drifting STi go ONE curve quicker than the other two, thats about it...the track STi won the rest with the stock STi getting 2nd place in ALL of the rest. Drifting is just for show.
RWD is unpredictable. Go to the 350z forum and see how many have totalled their cars by just rapidly/abruptly switching lanes while raining. You have to be a good driver to reduce these possibilities, but leave it to irony, to fck you up good the day you are heading home exhausted from work, party, gf's house, etc to wrap yourself around a tree trying not to hit a deer etc.
Go to my350z.com and you'll see they are already going berzerk over Winter approaching.
The STi wish they had cheap aftermarket like us, and we wish we had nice reliable parts like them...and that's excluding some that we know arent so reliable. Etc.

anyone wanting to sell a car to get another because they think girls will like it better has issues. #1 why would you want a gold digger in your life? #2 girls will like your car not you. #3 girls enjoy personality, sense of humor, your physical looks ect.. not your dam car, LOL
Also, getting rid of the evo to get a "grown ups car" is ridiculous. only people that think that are simple minded people. these people see a movie with a car with a type of person and think anyone owning that car is also this type of person. this is nonsense.
im 32 and have had my evo since jan 2007 and still love it!!

I think the evo is categorically different from other cars. Although I am a bit younger, I do believe that the Evo, having its ability to generate a ridiculous amount of horsepower from a 2 liter engine, its impeccable handling characteristics and its rally credentials make it different from other cars.
Maybe my perspective might make my position biased because I have to keep my car for a long time, but for now I dream of having a lot of fun driving my Evo with rally tires on a unassuming trail somewhere up north. There are almost no cars in its class, the STI being the only exception. And the difference between the two cars is minute, becuase choosing between them is like choosing your favorite color.
Its all about purpose man, if you want to attract the ladies in a Z06 or 360, then go for it, but I would rather be happy tearing apart a trail somewhere.

nope. Ever since I bought my Evo, I love every thing about it, and Im still amazed how good this car is. My only regret is I should have bought an RS, instead of GSR SSL. Nowadays I only track my car, so no need for leather or Sunroof, HIDs are fine tho lol.
I will probably end up buying a BMW 335i next year, but Evo is a kEEper..

I definitely dont regret purchasing my evo but its time for me to move on...Ive owned the car for almost 3 years and it just isnt practical for me anymore im moving onto a more practical classier car that will draw less attention to me!
Sooo I'll be purchasing my 2005 6MT G35 within the next few day...
Some nice tein coilovers, fat staggared fit HRE's and im sure ill forget all about the evo until I mash the gas petal down
haha
Oh and btw this guy is a ****ing moron trying to say that an m5 doesnt give you a cemented feeling to the road...Ive driven my dads 07 m5 several times and his car is just unreal SICK to drive...handles like a dream and makes huge power throughout the entire powerband all while sitting in an extremely comfortable BMW interior and the amazing gorgeous appearance of the car.

Hmm cheap...easy to make fast...outhandles cars 2x the sticker price..and its 4 doors...i drove my friends 06 m5....beautiful car...beautiful engine...but it just doesnt give me that feeling of being cemented to the road that my evo gives me....Plus the evo's steering is amazing...Ive owned this car 6-7 months...when i step on the gas/launch it i realize why i love this car sooo much

And the only thing I regret was that I wish I bought a white one... Or at least have waited for an SE; but those are trifles considering i freaking have a lancer evolution. thanks.
Nah dude, cant remember. I always read'em when I go to walgreens...i stay hours browsing the whole magazine stack lol
