Anyone here wish they didnt buy an evo?

...cuz I do. I don't know, I just grew out of it. i bought mine w/ some very nice mods. I then started getting sick of the evo and didn't care for to have it modded since i didnt like the car so i sold off the parts and its currently sitting stock. I tell all my friends I feel for my evo, as some 17yr old w/ their first 1994 honda civic would feel about their car. I'm glad that its EPA isnt so bad since i drive about 50mi round trip to work and i havent had a single problem with it aside from a bad alignment, but as for the car itself, I seriously wish I could no longer own this car Sell it you say? unable to do so without being put in the hole so i guess im stuck with this sucker for a few years

we all go through your stage.

for me i've never owned a car for more than a year, and i'm on my 18th month for the Evo....for the past month or so i desperately searched for a replacement car, but i couldn't find anything other than the STi that could do what the Evo can do and still has a fair price.

i had a boner for an LS2 GTO and LS1 FD rx7...but after driving both i'm sticking with my Evo, just gonna put more mods on it

I'm feeling the same way you are. I'm currently selling mine to get a Z06 for a daily driver. I want a grown up car now.

ya im fairly young myself and i've only owned 1 car for over a year.......it was another evo which i LOVED. PS: i've owned a LS1-A4 GTO and i hated that car too. I loved the sleek and clean look of it though.

The saying "we always want what we dont have" applies to me. I always tell myself I had a few choices when I got my evo... 04 G35 coupe, 03 350z 6spd w/navi, 04 S2k, or if i paid a few thousand over, I couldve got my dream car -04 Z06 but im sure insurance would've raped me to hell and back on that 1. But if i ever got anything beside the evo, i'm sure i'd be sitting here saying "MAN I WISH I WOULDA GOT AN EVO!"

At this point, I still want that c5-z or an IS250 (AWD i could care less about the straightline power). maybe I should mod it more so it could excite me :/ but I dont have the drive to invest more money into it, except doing double monthly payments.

PS: its a Jensen model. I wanted a pioneer but this model was sitting next to the Pioneer and the quality on this thing was unbelievable for a $350 pricetag. it has everything including touchscreen besides Navi

for me it was a dream ever since i was like 14 to be able to have an evo. I eventually bought it atthe age of 22 and i dont think im gonna EVER get rid of my car. she is good to me as i am to her and as long as i keep smoking the hell out of folks on the road then i got no problems. im sorry you feel this way but to some of us EVO's will always be in my garage........

just my thoughts.

speed safely

I felt the exact same way as you when I got my first 03..I told myself i'd never give it up. Due to some financial complications at the time, I gave it up and I missed it to hell. Now, I want something a little more "grown up" i guess you could say. Investing over 20k into a car that was derived from a Lancer is kickin me in the a$$ i suppose. For the money, I feel i made the wrong decision. I'm extermely glad im financially stable enough to afford it for the time that I DONT want to own it, but my spark of Evo'ness is gone.

I can relate!! I think the EVO is a nostalgic car for me. When I was going to the track every week, blowing up trans, street racing, those were fun times, but that was also a long time ago now. When I was doing that the most it was with 1 of my 5 DSM's.

After realizing that I didn't have the money for broken drivetrain parts. I moved on to a Mustang which was stolen, then a FD which popped a seal, then a Cobra which was alot of fun too. When 35R's came out in full force 2 years ago and EVO trans/TC's were holding up. I thought hmmmm another AWD car, import, 4g63 would be fun. When Buschur ran some 10.0's and said the trans/TC was much stronger I was sold and bought a EVO.

It was great for awhile I amassed parts and had plans, but being 30+ now with kids, job, school, etc was I just trying to relive a dream? The answer comes up yes more than no I think and I won't have the time nor money to be replacing drag strip carnage. 1 week I'm buying a built motor the next week I'm selling the car in my head EVO' s are fun and handle well that boyrace image certainly wears thin though. I'm still torn and don't know if I'll keep it or sink 20K in it.....it's a hard choice.

Lastly, I constantly have a yearning for a C6 or used Porsche TT. Ever since riding in a C6 Z06 I've been hooked and riding in a 04' TT Porsche with X50 package and intake, exhaust, chip, upped the boost I've been drooling over those. Gorgeous interior and 75k used right now too

I don't know where I'll be in 6 months I might be ordering a block from Buschur or have the car on Autotrader. I can relate though scratch that itch if you want to move on it's only a car.
