Anyone here wish they didnt buy an evo?
shorty story:
I used to own 2 dsm's before and always had a problem with those cars. So when evo came out! I was on hook! I knew the car inside/out when i bought it.
Never! I did that mistake ones, sold my 03 for an 01 s4 and i miss it as far luxury, but hell, after 2 months of owning it i wanted to mod more and way too much $ to make it faster lol so I said oh hell 05 RS looks nice! in white. so wth I GOT it and will never get rid of my evo!!! i wish it was paid off and thats what im heading for. I just wish we could get more respect for driving an evo or sti with big wing because people think its a riced out car that 17yrs old can own it. I dont give a crap what other people think when they see me. I just wish my payments a month would be lower.
the good thing i like about evo's ALL SEASON FUN!

I hope you're not talking about an E46. Because the Eisenmann exhaust for my E46 M3 cost almost as much as ALL of my Evo IX's stage 1 mods+ECU tune.Modding BMW's is NOT cheap, but the Evo provides tremendous value for the money. Plus I can drive it year round as my beater car
nvm i'm somewhat over it now haha...
no I was talking about my e36 m3.
I'm going to just try to find a cheap e36 and build that, and keep the evo.
this is the last pic i took of my M before it went on a trailer to NY

While I've only had my IX for 6 months, I honestly cannot imagine ever getting rid of it.
For those who need reassurance from others about whether to keep the evo, I would suggest selling it to someone who doesn't have the same doubts. Then, if you miss the evo after awhile, you can always buy another (from some other guy who is having second thoughts)

I wish I bought slower car, something that doesn't respond well to mods, doesnt launch like a virgin's first orgasm. I knew I should hve gotten a V6 Mustang....I would so be in the cool club by now.
I wish I would have bought the 4 drs civic instead so I have more money to buy vtec for my civic.
After I pay off my evo I want to get an used NSX though. Wont be getting rid of my evo, just a addition to my collection.

have mine for 2 months so far and i will never get rid of it. i owned a lancer for 2 years with no complaints besides the obvious. Same goes for my evo no complaints besides the obvious.
I was skeptical about daily driving mine to work since every review bashed it's comfort and honestly, I enjoy driving this to work more than my old bugeye (although it was lowered and stiff)
What sucks is the gas mileage and the fact that it's a chick magnet (and by chicks, I mean dudes)
Overall, the Evo is a great performing machine, which is what I purchased it for

This thread is interesting. It is kind of amazing how many people really regret their purchase, or at least want to sell their car as of today. I am 26 and have owned a total of six cars, with the EVO being the 6th. I really enjoy the car but I can honestly say that I go back and forth in my mind as to whether or not it is worth the money, is it too loud, too much attention, expensive insurance, etc... When I press on the gas or go around a series of corners those thoughts usually go away.
I agree that most of us always want what we don't have. I have always loved fast cars. I had a civic hatch with a B16 turbo, then went to a WRX. I decided after a while that the WRX wasn't for me and that I really wanted an EVO. However, I couldn't afford an EVO at the time so I decided for some reason to get rid of the WRX and I got a Land Rover mostly because of its comfort. After owning the Rover for about one month I couldn't deal with the crappy gas mileage and zero response on the gas pedal. I sold it and got the EVO. My lesson learned - stay with a fast car even if it isn't the EVO.
