I had a plain key made that matches my ignition key. This was so I could warm up my car in winter with the doors locked. One day I tried it in the ignition. It started and I backed half way down the driveway before the engine quit.

There are ways around anything......I no longer own it but my Z06 had a chipped key and I could have "hot wired" it. I dont think theres anything you could do to prevent it but you could probably do a few thing to slow somebody down.

The point is, if you picked or forced the ignition, and if you started the car repeatedly, goosed and coasted, you could drive a car with a working immobilizer away.

Wow that's a very sharp looking car, being a 05 MR with JDM headlights, so it's pretty easy to spot for trained eyes (mostly evo owners).

Hope peeps around the area look out for you and best of luck.

PS: Have you insured the car yet when this happened? Full Coverage?

It was likely towed...

But unfortunately its fairly easy to perminently defeat the immobilizer and get the car running.

Hope they find the car, its a shame to see them disappear like this.
