This is the last thing I am going to say about this subject (whether it's this thread or in the future):

First, I have NO personal ill will against Shawn. I feel really bad about what has happened with his car. My only beef was that I just haven't seen the things he's complained about. I hope I don't.

Second, my personal goal with my car was not to make the fastest, meanest, loudest, or any other "est" Evo around. I just wanted to make a little more power, add some reliability and keep it driveable daily. I kept my mods simple and did them bit by bit.

Finally, I just hate when people rip a company they have no personal interaction with. Shawn is the only one I really know here that has solid ground to stand on. The intake has proven to make power on the dyno, as have the downpipe and ECU flash. Since I haven't dyno'ed my car since I put the exhaust on, I will wait and see. Believe me, if I put my car on the dyno and only made 20 hp, I would be pissed too.

So Shawn, I apologize for coming across as a personal attack. I just didn't see the things happening that you described and I watched a substantial part of your car's build. That's just why it was hard to believe. Like I posted before, I have seen it driven, heard it run smoothly, etc. I saw the dyno pages. Who the heck knows what happened in the interim??

I informed RMR about the proceedings here. They would like to respond, but can't for legal reasons. I think the whole thing is a shame. For those of you out there considering their parts, I would whole-heartedly recommend them. As for the customer service part, I can't explain it. Good luck out there to all of you devoted Evo owners.

well said, chris. RMR has serviced my evo several times, and they have always been great. would i trust anyone with my evo, especially since i rally AND drive it daily? i dont think so. I've seen your car first hand (and tinkered in it) and it's a great machine on its way to being a balanced machine. It sounds to me like Shawn has much more money to burn than i thought..."i recenty picked up a truck" .. what'd you do, go buy a lightning since your evo's down? sh*t man.. RMR is NOT monster garage. they cannot build a car in 2 weeks or less to the magnitude you want with everything dialed...and from what i hear, called 3-4 times a day doesnt help either. half the fun is dialing and building the car yourself. have you ever turned a wrench?

RMR can't respond for legal reasons.

Sounds to me like a cop out. From what I've read in my thread and others I'm not the only one who has problems or issues with RMR. I think the whole legal thing is a cop out. Either that or their trying to not give me anymore ammo than I already have for my lawsuit.

Like I told you before, I have no problem with you personally. I just haven't seen the problems myself. I've seen your car being built, driven, etc. and there was nothing wrong. It's a strange thing. I can only say from my own experience that I've had the completely opposite from RMR - good parts, good service.

Well of course they don't want to give ou any more information, becasue it could be compared to any depositions tha might have to be taken, and it can only help you. If you have to actually take it to trial, be careful that you didn't try to do anything to the CAT, that might spell abd news for you and for them. I think tampering with the emissions parts is like a 10,000 federal fine. Also, I hope if you do have to go to court, it sounds like you have a decent chance of winning a summary judgement, which means that you win completely without even going to curt because your case is so strong. The only problem, is that oral contracts although valid, are very hard to enforce. The dispute is would focus on weather or not you willingly took a risk at damaging your car, or if they were neglegent/breach of contract on their part. They will have to point that you voided your warrenty, but of course you can saw that you did that becasue you trusted and believed in thier work and had NO concern that their work would be anything less then perfect. Best of luck, and keep us posted with your situation. I can't believe that RMR took their ECU off the market. That also strengthens your case, by showing (I am not trying to bash RMR here) that they admit there was a problem with their product and that they released it and applied their product without proper research. If other people are having problems, some greedy lawyer might even want a class action lawsuit, but all that would acomplish would be to ruin a good tuning shop, and I don;t think that anyone wants that.

I have to say that I feel badly for RMR here as well. I know that all tuning is an artform, and that they did make a mistake, but the worst part is that if they had not made you so mad, it would have never even come to this. I have read a lot of posts here supporting RMR, and for everyone's sake wish that they would fix your problem, and then everyone could move forward. In the end the bad publicity will cost them a lot more than anything they would have needed to do to make your car run correctly.

I understand you got a Free ecu from RMR and some discounted parts but honestly.. thats why you are backing them up.. I been hearing really bad stuff of RMR lately.. And i would gladly sell my exhaust to anyone.. I'm am tired of RMR myself.. But i dont' know why anyone would buy it.. My car didnt' get any faster with the exhuast

Sounds like some people are jumping on the anti-RMR bandwagon… From what I have seen, RMR parts are top notch…

Not to ask obvious questions but... Did you dyno the car before and after? Do you have a boost gauge to see if your boost dropped after adding the RMR exhaust and downpipe? Are you running lower octane fuel? You really might want to check your A/F ratios to get an idea what your car is doing....

Sounds like you may need some tuning. "Bolt-on" does not necessarily mean no tuning required... You may need other mods like a boost controller and SAFC to really get the most from your mods. The same when using the induction pipe and intake; depending on your car you will likely loose power until you tune the A/F for those mods.
