*** Please refrain from asking about the availability of parts. I don't know yet if it's totaled or if I'd even be able to get the car back if it is. ***
If anyone happens to be interested, here are links to pics of my accident.
Just cause I'm sure people will ask - Yes, I'm fine... aside from a bruised ego which is evidently located in my lower left rib cage
I was entering the highway when I lost control and the back of the car stepped out. I wasn't quite merging yet, but I was close. As I was sliding and counter steering I actually had a moment of clarity and knew that I had a choice to make - aggressively counter steer in hopes of pulling through the situation fine, but risk over correcting and sliding onto moving traffic creating one hell of a scene or counter steer, though not aggressively, and hope I didn't hit the guard rail. Well I succeeded in not hurting anyone else but I nailed the guard rail at highway speeds, exactly how fast I don't know.
Progressive tells me that they'll consider it a total loss if repairs exceed 75% of the vehicles value. I didn't clarify, but she indicated that it would be retail value rather than wholesale. According to NADA the value is over $23k so I really doubt it'd be totalled... $16k in repairs???
The only factor that might considerably bump repairs up is what, if any, damage was sustained to the motor. I do know that the oil filter snapped off, but if that's it then it's relatively minor.
It's going to be inspected Tuesday and I suppose I'll know for sure then.
Sorry guys, here's the link:

I have seen where the front engine mount actually BROKE the block from what appeared to be a "minor" hit to r.front.You might want to check that area but it requires pulling upper timing belt cover...
Updated with the link, sorry about that. Tires were actually in great shape, Nitto 555s. In one picture it looks like there may be snow flurries. I didn't even notice till looking at the pics and I'm not saying that the roads were slick but it's at least an indication of the temperature.

To be honest I'm a bit confused at how it actually stepped out myself. Best I can figure is several relatively minor things came together at once:
1.) Cold tires. It was a pretty cold night and I'd only been driving about 5 miles before getting onto the highway.
2.) I was moving along pretty well on the ramp, probably matching moving traffic well before the end of the ramp. I didn't think to look afterwards but I'm almost certain the turn tightens at the very end.
3.) Lifted off the throttle upon noticing traffic merging too early. This entrance ramp continues and turns into an exit ramp as well.
