Alternator issue please help!!!

First of all... I just relocated my battery to the trunk for my new upper intercooler pipe (short route so you have to use a small battery or relocate).

We grounded out the battery on an intercooler pipe and blew out the fuse (the one that on the left side of the stock battery when it is in the stock location under the hood)..

I bought a new fuse from Mitsubishi and everything is hooked up right now...

but the Alternator is smoking bad... do you think my Alternator is fried? and need to purchase a new one?

Please help me out

thank you!

yes, smoking alternator is a bad thing.... how did you relocate your battery? are you sure you wired it correctly?

You grounded your battery to the intercooler piping? Bad Idea... you need a solid grounding point.

do you guys think I need a new alternator?

Does smoking mean that it is fried?

wow, poorly installed, you might wanna re-install all the wires and have your fingers cross, maybe you'll get lucky and the alternator turn out good

I have pixs on how I moved my battery to the back if you like to see it, pm me your e-mail

E-mailed you =D

You dont have to do it my way, its just I rather be safe then sorry. Remember that the 8gauge wire that used the 100amp fuse (stock set up) is for the alternator return, it needs 12volt at all time for it to run correctly.

FYI I have seen alternators on here for $75 to $150, but the down side is installing them
