The "Official" Evo Modding for Dummies
Nice. How about a mention/explanation of the OEM restrictor pill in the clutch slave and the Evomoto link how-to thread on removing it?

I think this is a worthwhile mod to consider for anyone who wants to launch their Evo hard/effectively.
Also, IMO, a stiffer front motor mount (Agency Power, AMS press-in poly front bushing, Buschur Racing center bar with upgraded front mount) is a no-brainer for noticeably better shifting, especially for when the engine is under load and you're cornering, e.g. during track days or autox events.
In my experience, adding a stiffer front engine mount to the Evo 8/9 does not add a significant amount of vibration and shaking (in some Honduhsv in which I've done poly engine mount bushings, the negative side effects kinda sucked).
chaotichoax, I'm still planning on writing a brake upgrade section... although I still haven't managed to achieve a bulletproof solution for my own car yet for track days.

MaftPro makes the hardware side of the speed density conversion which like the software patches requires the addition of boost and air temp sensors in the boost tube or intake manifold.
Link to the stock ECU speed density patches

Also requires a boost sensor and air temp sensor installed in the car's intake manifold. Also requires patience, money, and tuning knowledge (or tuner) to get it right and running.
hey guys ive been absent as of late and ive been searching for a similar thread. it was similar but it also had a list of some of the best brands for certain pieces (LICP for example). i could have sworn it was called "how to mod your evo" or something like that. been searching for a couple hours now and i cant find it, any help?

Looking into buying an exhaust and i found the one i wanted at a great price but after seeing the picture the piping didng quite look right and the explanation is "There USE to be a Resenator in the middle and the MID PIPE wasn't a true 3" so i took it to a Professional Muffler Shop and made it a True 3". Basically the Mid Pipe tapers down to 2.75 and i notice the difference AFTER i got the MID PIPE to a Full True 3". what i want to know is how would that change the exhaust is it still worth getting? quieter or louder? i am bone stock atm if that makes any difference.

with just bolt-ons I doubt a section of 2.75" piping will make a huge difference...with a 35r turbo it'd be a different story

if you want a quiet but free flowing exhaust look at cobb or a buschur unit with dual mufflers
