Who's Gonna Keep Their EVO Forever?
By the time I'm done with it the only way my son will be be getting the keys to mine will be if I get a map rev-limited to 3k rpm's.. and even then, I'm still not sure! Although by that time, buying him his own project Evo when responsible enough might be cheaper..
I'm not the original owner of mine - bought it off a Washington State Sherriff!
I've had my 8 for 5 years now....man I love it! Working in the automotive industry, I've driven everything from a Kia Rio to a Ferrari F430 & just about everything else in between. The Evo just knows how to satisfy like no other! The level of involvement with the car, & the Evo's ability to communicate all the important information to the driver puts so many other car's to shame! I have seriously considered getting an X awhile back, but the initial test drive left me going ehhh... didn't have that same feedback & feeling of being so connected with the road like an 8 or 9 does.. I'm confident it could be improved, but would require throwing more money on top of an already enormous pile of money required to buy the X to begin with....a little TOO much! but that's a whole 'nother topic!
If you guys were to part with the Evo, what car would you say be worthy enough to replace the Evo? I've yet to drive one, but I've always looked at RS4's out of the corner of my eye...very intrigueing car! Expensive? Very! Only a drive could determine if it truely would be worthy to replace my 8.

A relatively cheap, good looking, easy to modify all wheel drive turbocharged four door performance sedan with decent room and a trunk big enough to stuff a body in... Are there even other options out there like that?
Got two years and the VIII I've got here will be paid off. I'm still of a mindset that I'll hold onto it till it wont hold up anymore, and even then I'll probably rebuild it a few more times before I ever let it go. As it is, I've rebuilt it twice (once motor, once cosmetically).
I've got another rebuild that I have started to plan. I will def have this car for atleast another four years.
