Who's Gonna Keep Their EVO Forever?
121,000 miles and zero problems. I'll most likely pick up a pre-owned 911 Turbo eventually, but I don't think I'll get rid of the Evo.
Even 10 years from now I can't see this car being obsolete in terms of performance and the bar has already been set very high. Other than it's performance rivals, Porsches and M3s, there's really nothing else to replace it with anyway.

I just got mine 4 months ago. I'll defiantly keep it till death do us part. I plan on getting a X MR Touring as a daily =]
I can't say I'll always have my CURRENT Evo, but an Evo will definitely be in my car collection at all times!

Well I am an 03' evo 8 owner and I am chiming in!
I bought mine new with 7 miles on it at the end of the summer of 04' and I still love my car. I drove it stock except for ATEC bronze wheels on Hankook Icebears, Ralliart shift knob, and a Perrin drop in filter for almost the entire 36K mile warranty (pretty worthless, see below), .
I was anxious to upgrade things, but completely satisfied and did not want to take any warranty chances.
At 20K, I took it into the dealership to tell them about a 2nd gear syncro problem.
They said, "I do not see anything wrong with your car". They said, "...take us for a ride and show us what your talking about". I said, "...see right there" and they said, "...we are not covering it because it is due to your driving". I wanted to say f$&% y&u. I then figured even if something did happen in the next 10k miles they would not fix it anyway.
Mitsubishi warranty sucks which is my only complaint.
At 25K, the clutch went out and I decided to do some upgrades: ShepTrans, Exedy twin with flywheel, AMS shifter bushings, and clutch lines.
Made the drive train strong, but regret not doing the transfer case.
At 35K, I hit a raccoon that ruined the intercooler, front bumper, and under tray. Here, I did all body mods: Kaminari body kit, Beatrush underpanel, Seibon trunk, APR GTC 200 wing with risers, and VIS cf vortex generator.
I am now very happy with how it looks.
I am 51K now and want more power. It has been way to long at the stock 271 horse. I am gathering parts for a GT35R turbo upgrade. This is a lot of money for me and I have enough. I have road in a 430hsp and 650hsp evo here in town and I was very impressed. I can't wait until I get this added power that is long overdue.
I love my car in the summer time because it looks great, it handles great in the winter driving through the snow, and if you through a few dollars at it you can unlock a lot of power. For me it has been reliable. I was only stuck once when a small coolant hose broke.
I do not plan to sell it anytime soon and with every part I add gives me great satisfaction!!!

I'm looking for my 4th evo and once I find/buy it, I do not plan to ever get rid of it. I've kept coming back, and getting rid of another would be foolish considering how hard it is to find clean ones.
"Till Death Do Us Part" either I die or he goes from my hands. Yes I said he I beleive car's are males and trucks are females LOL!!!! Plus Evo's are to much of Monsters to be called females.

thats it man, its ****ing paid off and you now have a toy for the rest of your life to play with.
GL with everything you do
noticed new drivers arnt up to par with this kind of car, noticed also alot of in and out guys.
either when you first drive an EVO you instantly say this is the car! or this is to much car and decides to go back to a honda or bmw.
I chose the later when I had my ZO6 for just over a month
wasn't practical for me
and can see where your coming from.
