I agree some people abuse their EVOs and its sad to see a car get treated badly but its the owners car and they can do what they want with it. The more they abuse it the better my car looks i guess or more money out of their pocket to fix it

The one's that like to bounce the motor off redline at a standstill because they like to hear it or think it's a launch control (yes, I've met one owner who thought that ). More or less the general "I don't care" attitude about the maintenance as well, and I realize that things are tight right now and some can't afford the maintenance as much as they'd like to. For the most part I think the majority of owners and enthusiasts on here do take care of their cars the best they can. As for taking these cars to a track, I honestly don't think they're the greatest platform for 1/4 mile straight lines, and they shine doing what they were intended for in auto-x, but that's my personal opinion. Everyone's opinion differs on the subject.

what you need to do is become friends with the idiots who think they have a 2step and bouncing off redline sitting still, then when thier **** blows up and they cant afford new parts take thier **** for cheap and sell it for profit. Trust me it will help you sleep better at night

Seen this a few times... Especially at the track here in Portland. I almost don't understand how these guys can afford the car -- I'm assuming parents. I just ignore it as much as possible..

Sometimes, that's a general rule of thumb that doesn't always apply. Only a few companies rates' drop when you reach that age. More importantly is your years of driving experience. For example, a cousin of mine who was 28 last year only had four or five years of driving experience reported, and his rates weren't as good as they could've been because of that, so rarely is it only based on age, though generally speaking most insurance companies will just assume that you've been driving since your 16th birthday and give you the full amount of driving experience possible.

I want to know what company you guys go through to get $80 a month for full coverage! I have currently 14 years of driving under my belt with no accidents/points/etc. Can't say I've never had tickets, but those were a long time ago and expunged from my driving record lol.

I'm with Geico. However, we've been with them for a while and also have multiple vehicle discounts.

I have Erie Insurance. Mine's probably cheap because I'm married, own a home w/garage, multiple vehicle discount, have home owners insurance through them, and drive less than 2 miles to get to work.

I had them for many years (10+), and had multiple vehicle discounts AND I work for the gov't lol. When I called them to insure the car before I picked it up they quoted me almost $180 higher than my current rate, stating that it was so high because it was a vehicle commonly used for street racing and they wanted to discourage people from buying these types of vehicles. Lamest excuse I ever heard, so I switched companies.

Hmm, that's probably why. I'm *almost* married but not quite, but I do own a house and garage and multiple vehicles. Of course my commute is almost 100 miles round trip which sucks when trying to keep the mileage low on such a fun car to drive.

^ Yeah, reported mileage definitely plays a big role. I have a relatively short commute and don't go to work every day either (maybe four days a week), so I can report a lower annual mileage and back it up.

man I searched for a clean EVO for almost 3 weeks until i finally found one I wanted. I testdrove 5 cars and seen over a dozen of them and I must say either people really have money to throw away or just love to get their cars repo'd when they break something and cant afford to fix it.

I have sen it all from the simple bald tires to trannies popping out of gear on normal driving. The worst thing is that because its an "evo" its supposed to hold its value....lol BS!!!!

There should be two types of EVO's out there:

1- all stock with minor comfort mods...ie system, exhaust, intake,Lip

2-all out ***** to the wall"I am shooting for 450+whp action"!!!

The ricer crap with a aluminum space wing and running your car with "stillen stickers" gots to stop!

I pay all respects for those new drivers with evo that take care of their evo.
