How many of you are tired of seeing/hearing about beaten on Evo's?
You'll think that until the following calendar year when insurance companies re-rate the Evo and jack up the annual premiums due to all of the tickets and accidents.

i baby my car too but once in awhile i like to have spirited sprints in 2nd and 3rd geari for one shouldnt talk though... i got into an accident, but it wasnt my fault.

@TS get out of your ivory tower. EVOs are awesome and high perfomance cars but so are a bunch of other cars that you see on the streets everyday as a matter fact I see more M3 being abused and sometimes driven by ppl that deff don't use all the performance that the car offers and that doesn't seem to bother them.
Nothing like correcting bad grammar and English with more bad grammar and English!
evo = cheap rally car, that just happens to be ungodly fast when built up, so i admit i beat mine up, take it throug gravel, dirt, grass, and what ever else catches my attention, if was going to buy this car to baby it body kit it and not race it, then I would be a F***ing moron who would deserve to get shot. Have you ever driven in a 8/9 with no radio on??? just listen to the car is sounds like its going to fall apart at any given moment, this car was built to be abused like a homeless crack head.
I agree, but if they want to spend 15-25K buying a EVO then by all rights go ahead, cause in the end it will be us with the pristine cars that have been treated and modded right.
Its gods why of weeding out the retards.

Wasn't going to say anything but I am tired of those that think this car was built to cater to the too fast too stupid crowd! I could care less what people buy and what they do with their own stuff but I do care when the result is a bad rep for a world class car and causes trouble for the rest of us.
Grow up!
Grow up!
I gotta admit, the reputation for " beaten on " Evo's is the reason why i was very hesitant about buying one to begin with. I just bought mine officially a week ago and im taking care of that car like taking care of a newborn. Im far from rich, I just work hard for what i want and im almost 21. Because of that car, I stopped smoking. Lol. Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same way when it comes to taking care of their pride and joy.
who cares what someone else does to their car.
if they want to beat on it left and right its their choice. when it breaks on them I'm not going to be the one making payments on it, they are.

It's more a case of economics. When EVO's first came out many young people couldn't afford them. Now that you can buy one for 15-18k means many younger people will be picking them up.
I can't complain it makes getting a Z06 that much sweeter when insurance your insurance goes down. We insure 4 cars and Ireceived my official quote yesterday $471 cheaper every 6 months for the Z06. That is crazy!!

First off I'll be honest with you, I am 17 and I drive an evo, and I didn't buy it myself. But the only reason I drive an evo is because it used to be my dads car, I was always interested in cars and when my dad got an evo I was amazed just sitting in the passanger seat. It led me to want to learn how to drive a stick at 14, I drove whenever I could but on closed streets blah blah blah....More to the point, I got lucky and when I was about sixteen and a half my dad decided to get a new car but I begged him not to sell the evo and instead sell the s2000 (we live in seattle and it was always slipping around anways). I got to use the evo as "my car", it was probably the best day of my life when I found out. So I started researching the car and trying to find out as much as possible so that I could be the best driver I could. I know that at 17 I DO NOT have anywhere near as much experience as most people who drive one of these cars, but at the same time I am trying to learn as much as possible, I am going to be taking professional driving courses and making sure I can be the best possible. I think it is a bit lame that you would automatically blame younger kids around for all of the poor driving and bad choices, I personally know of a few evos around here that are beaten, street raced and tons of other dumb things, but I do also understand that a lot of kids don't understand anything about cars and drive them until they break or they crash. Not every kid that drives an evo or a nice car has to be a moron that flys around at 95 in a 30, there are some that wan't to try and be the best they can.
The other HUGE factor for me was what other car would I own or build to have this kind of power to weight ratio and actually get traction.
Back on Topic: I am dissapointed in local meets and car shows when the evo scene is becoming ridiculous with "the former honda crowd" buying these cars (sometimes highly modified) and not understanding or appreciating what they own...........but at the end of the day I love my car and frankly I can't be bothered by anyone elses car, or age, or maturity, or whatever.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
I bought this car to race. It is faster than my old drag car, handles better than my old AX car. And is a blast to drive.
I am in CT too. I went to one or two Starbucks meets in Mystic and felt that way about it. So I stopped going. I even drive my car in the summer in its racing form. But I look old enough that kiddies don't mess with me and the car obviously is purposeful. And I drive like a grandma on the street. Hugely against street racing.
In MI we had a dedicated bunch, and for the most part we all were about the same age. So meets were fun. More of a photo day too.
