The previous owner of my Evo left something to be desired in the care department. But for the most part everything is repairable and nothing major. He smoked in the car and there are some burn marks. I am not sure what he did to the passenger rear door panel but I replaced it because it had some gashes in it. There are some minor body work issues (you really don’t see them until you look for them). The only thing that I need to get taken care of now is the pealing CF wing.

Other than that the car is in pretty good shape. I do all of the work I can on the car that time and tools allow considering this is my DD. Right now my car is dirty but at least I am not gashing a door panel or beating it up. This guy obviously did not care how his car looked. Dirt can wash off gashes and that cannot. He traded the Evo in on an RX8, I picked it up for a nice price and as I said most of the things are relatively minor but annoying none the less.

i understand what your saying tho, i put nothing on my car unless im getting benefit in performance from it. but not everyone thinks the same way
Sure it bothers me, but sometimes things have to be learned over time. I'm not going to flat out tell someone they have to buy certain things, if they ask me I make suggestions but that's it. Personal taste is just that, and different for each individual. I think many young kids just buy these cars just because of the status symbol that it is without putting any thought into it. If they want to make it into something hideous, that's their choice...just don't ask me if it looks good lol.

I asked him why he did that, thinking maybe it fell off or something but he just said it sounds better. I didnt say another word and just drove off. He always waves at me and i do nothing back. That really grinds my gears
Yeah that would irritate me too lol. That and the one's that just want the "whoosh" sound lol.

I'm 17 and I take care of my car and drive it like I'm driving a Toyota Rav 4. I really don't see the point of going WOT every single day every single second. But when I'm usually in the mood (fridays and saturdays usually) I will take my car and "get on it" with some shifting that usually gets done at redline, which is always fun. But I take care of my car and hope she takes care of me. The Evo is just a normal car to get me from point A to point B but when the car is begging me to open her up than i get to point B a lot faster.

there were only so many made, right ? 2000 or 5000, whatever the production numbers were, with every year, we are that much closer to taking our babies to "Barret-Jackson", and striking it rich

haha, i am watcging barret jackson right now. seeing all these cars going for like 70k from the 40's and 50's got me thinking what our cars will be worth in that many years. I think though it might be different in the next 25yrs.

heres my take. im on both sides of the fence

on one side, i love seeing evos molested and destroyed because the well maintained ones will get a premium later on.

the other side of me hates these people. i hate being associated with ricer bs. hate being associated with moronic car "enthusiasts" who like the whoosh sound, and want to know how to vtek their evo..

I figured I'd play nice so I edited what I wrote, no need in pissing too many people off.

I plan on keeping my car for many many years, so yeah...the more Evo's that get trashed the more mine will be worth as long as it doesn't rust out on me lol.

Yes, I respect a young owner who shows respect and care for his car. However, I would suggest using a period mark and maybe a little more thought into how you can keep away from run-on sentences lol. I know english and grammar aren't many people's strong points so I won't be overly condoning about it, my mother was a grammar teacher so I tend to get a little quirky about it lol.

Normally I stick solely to the EcuFlash section just for the reason of people actually use their brain's there to logically solve problems. Believe it or not, intelligent conversation stimulates intelligent thought...think about it, it might take a while.

Maybe I should've made the thread title to read "How many of you are tired of stupidity and idiocracy?"
fair enough...

but most people have to learn how to deal with ignorance and not get pissed off if someone asks a "dumb" question. and if companies such as bushur are bitter because people that dont know simply want to be informed, they need to hire a customer service and just stay in the shop.

yes maybe they should but they dont. So seeing their bitterness is becoming more and more obvious. Theres just alot of dumb questions that could be answered with some research.
