Intermittent starting issues
For the last week or so I've been running into this starting issue. I could see the fuel pump hump and see fp go up but the car don't crank nor does the starter click. I originally though it was the starter, took it out and had it tested. Autozone said it was fine. Put it back in, clean the battery terminal on the positive side. It started for 2 days straight and now the problem comes back this morning. I'm going to check the ground connection but I'm out of ideas. Any help would be great.

^he said he had it checked already. Its the connection of the thin wire going to the male connector on the starter itself. Cut off the junk OEM female plastic spade connector and replace it with a new spade connector. When you put it back together, tug on it a little bit to make sure the new connection is good and wont come apart. Sorry for the bad description, having a brain fart on technical names.

It's definitley the starter. I had this exact same problem. Went to the dealership 3 times before I said keep my car till you find what it is. 2 days later they said they said it finally didn't start and the the problem was the starter.

If that wire isn't making a solid connection (i.e. loose or corroded) you will get no action from the starter. Its a pretty easy fix without breaking the wallet with ruling it being the starter itself. It needs a power source from the solenoid when you turn your key to tell the starter to engage.

Thanks for the inputs so after having a friend of friend who is a diamod cert tech look t it, turn out to be a bad connection due to a corroded starter line further up the cable. Replaced it and everything is good so far.

Its not the starter if it was already checked. It is most likely the barrel switches where you put in your key. There is most likely a hairline crack which causes intermittent starting, had this problem on a seven. You can replace it with one from a junkyard lancer.
