Has anyone traded in their Evo for a GTI?

It's amazing how hurt some people get on these forums. But I agree with people who buy a car because it's what they want and not because it's what everyone else has. So if the guy wants a GTI that's his choice, plus if everyone was out there driving an evo I don't think I'd want an one anymore. I didn't buy it because I like the way it looks, or because other people have one. I used to have a Ford Lightning and 2002 WS6. I hated imports, mostly because the ones I usually came across were slow and all riced out. But then one day I happened to drive an evo in Hawaii. I actually thought it was Mitsubishi's version of an accord. I remember seeing it on a Jackie Chan movie doing some stunts but I really didn't think it was capable of that kind of performance. It was probably the best handling car I've ever driven under 100k. And that's why I bought mine.

I got rid of my 2004 Evo VIII and now drive a 2008 Gti MKV 5-door. I miss the extra power and the awd otherwise the Gti has been a great car slow but great. Before the Evo I had a 2004.5 Jetta Gli another great slow VW.
