great idea on the jeep! im driving the same thing when i dont drive my evo. hope you find a good evo! i have the 9 mr and hope to own a 10 as well... yes two evos. i choose the 9 and 10 because obviously they are the gap between the old engines and new ones. that way it wont be like i'm tuning an 8 and a 9.. with the same engines. i also want an evo 10 cause of the upgrade in luxury and paddle shifters! woot! will never get rid of my evo 9 though..

Yeah, it did cross my mind, but with high gas prices combined with horrible fuel economy, it crossed as quickly as it does in the quarter mile. I sought out for a V6 Jeep, didnt even want the normal V8.Originally Posted by MuslimEvoFreak

haha, your fine bro...i owned a 2000 m3 before i bought my evo and to this day i miss my m3. everyone says i was insane of selling the bimmer but i had to move on with something new. it was nice and luxury and fun to drive around in and fast but still got heads turned. lol so now i'm trying to find another m3 again. Hopefully in the future i'll buy a m6 but hey maybe owning an m3 and evo will be a great idea if you can do both payments
GL in your decision

I currently drive a 06' 6spd M3 with about 34k miles on it. I love the car and I have wanted this car since 2001, its absolutely gorgeous! After owning 2 06' Evos (IX SE & IX MR), yes 2 Evo's, I was finally in a position to buy my dream car, the M3. Well, since owning this car, I have realized that it just doesn’t do it for me like I thought it would, or for that matter, like the Evo's did. The M3 is fast, and the Evo IX was just stupid quick, but more importantly than all that, the Evo's felt as though they were made specifically for me, I just cant seem to get that comfortable driving feeling, position, sensation that I had with the Evo’s. They feel button down and connected to my brain and the road in ways the M3 leave me wanting.
So at this point, I am seriously considering an Evo IX (if I can find a good one) and selling the M3. Now being in my mid 30's and single, everyone has said the M3 is me, why did you even ever buy the Evo??? They just don’t understand, but I would hate to have to go back and constantly justify my purchase, but at the same time, living my life for others and not self isn’t satisfying...

Well i always fancied a gtr 34 and i got one this summer,500bhp,fantastic car and so very fast but now im back in an fq360 and it feels like im back where i really belong.Originally Posted by fastlanez

From my position.. which is one that I can have either car, but I enjoy doing all the work on them, as well as living in Ohio where it is snowy & slick a good 3-4 months out of the year...
I have had an m3 (e36), and I now have an Evo. The 'fun factor' is definitely different in each car, both are fast, the evo is easier to control, and feels much more like a 'purpose built' race car, where the m3 felt like a good base for a race car, if you didn't mind doing x, y & z to it. The issue I take with the m3 is the cost of parts and 'bmw specific' tools that are needed. I have a good series of tools, and do my own work, but a few jobs require expensive BMW tools, or taking it to a shop to pay $80-100/hr to have the dealership do it. Conversely, I have already done some of the same work on the EVO with little effort. To me, (as I have worked on lots of japanese cars) it feels like a larger/newer honda to work on, very intuitive and straight-forward. Again this is my feeling, not passing it off as fact.
So to me, I'll keep the Evo, and waive bye bye to the m3, yes it may turn more heads and look more 'grown up' but the practical side of me can't get over the true cost of ownership, or the awd vs. rwd for winter seasons here.

Came froma 05 Jeep Cherokee to a ix MR SE. Best car I ever bought. Don't get me wrong I hate that it looks like a lunch box on wheels, creeky interior, boy toy look, but it kicks ***. I love the fact that if your somewhat mechanically inclined you can work on these cars. Mine has been reliable so far so can't complain. I thought about the E-46 but just can't justify the fact hat I probably would never be able to work on them nor have the money to afford aftermarket parts. I have an evo for a hobby not just to get to point A to B. My family all said I was nuts for getting it. They thought since i am 28 that it was too juvenile. Now that they have seen it has become more of a hobby, they have accepted it. I do get a little tired of it once in a while but these forums and the thrills of driving it keeps me smiling!

get 4.10 gears for your m3 and you wont want to get rid of it- i went from a 450whp evo to an m3 and wont go back- but you need gears!

So I bought a new G35 coupe instead in 06...and have had it for 4 years. (obviously not quite an M3
) Recently I've test driven a few Evo's and realized "I don't give an eff what people think, driving this car is awesome!"
Needless to say I realized what I was missing out on...and shouldn't have cared in the beginning what people thought. They weren't gonna drive the car...I was. FWIW I'm 30...
You know what, everyone is always saying that they dont like the look of the evo because it is a boys car.Originally Posted by Coppi5151

So you bought a g35 nissan because some design guy told you that the evo looks like a boy racer and why would you want to be that guy?
LOL! wow bet you regretted listening to that guy who obviously doesnt care about what you want.
Remember when everyone wanted that camaro rs ss??
Well i wanted that car more than anything else when i was 5 years old up until today. Do you know who drives 68 rs ss's? Men in their 40s and 50s.
My point is you are never too old to dream and drive a "boys car"
After all we are all kid like in some way or another.
But since when was it not ok to act like a boy/look like a boy in an evo??
Id rather look like a boy than an old man or a guy going through a midlife crisis.
And i like the big winged fast and furious japanese spec styling of the evo.
Finally a true japanese tuner car comes to market , something that guys like me have been salavating over for a long long time, and you guys bash it.
Well if you dont like the boy racer looks than go back to your corvettes and bimmers and let us have our day in the sun.
Frankly this pisses me off.
cheers

BMW 's are nice but they look like boring real estate lady vehicles.
I 'll take my "boy racer" over bmw thank you very much

E46 M3 are kind of out dated had one too.
If it was an E92 M3 I'd call you crazy but a E46 and IX are fair game.
