i want to use the small battery for a few reasons. The short rote piping i am using is from PPI, second for weight wise. Since i am gona race the car ( auto x or drag) its nice to have some weigh off the engine bay, let alone it make it a lot easier working in the engine bay with that huge battery out of there. It depends on the persons goal, so i am not downgrading.

For about $75 (and $10 for the SAE battery posts) you can get the Deka...together with about $5 for a universal battery hold down kit at Advance Auto, and you got yourself a great weight savings mod. My ETX20L weighs about 15 lbs and is on it's second Winter here in New England with no issues.

17.5 Ah @ 10hr rate

270 CCA

I am going to order one of these! Thanks for the info.

I found that the Deka etx20l actually fits pretty well laid on its side in the stock battery tray. I'll try to take a pic of it and post it up.

What did you need to do to run the short route with the stock battery?

Get a Braille Lithium, keeps a solid 13.3-13.4 while sitting promoting a much better start up, only weighs 4.5#'s, charges 3 times quicker and last ten years. My EVO set out last night at 19 degrees on E85, started up instantly this morning, kick *** battery.

I had the Odyssey PC680 on my STI for 2yrs never had a problem with it. Until Christmas day last year when it left me stranded at Panda express. Guess it was too cold outside and the 220 CCA was not enough to turn the engine over. I replaced it with a Red Top 800 CCA. Only thing that sucks now is the extra 30lbs that comes with the Red Top..

Our Evo came with one when we bought it used a year and a half ago. We have cold winters here in Upstate NY (especially this year, ). Had reservations about the mini battery, but it has never let us down. Very impressed by it.

Thought we would have had to replace it, but haven't needed to. I believe its the Odyssey PC680.
