Need help on removing a broken bolt

so i broke the bolt that holds the control arm to the cardle, i believe thats what it is called, but the thing is the broken bolt is about 2 inches in from the surface so its hard to work on . Ive tried an easy out but it broke in the bolt and know i have been drilling the bolt with some left handed drill bits, most of the bolt is gone but stillhavent been able to remove it. Any suggestions on what else i can do? can by any chance i heat the bolt and maybe melt it? Or some how break the remaining part of the bolt? Any suggestions will be appreciated

Just keep doing what youre doing. tap magic is amazing when it comes to this stuff. keep drilling, and stepping up in bit size... sooner or later, you will be able to get it all out. that is what i do anyways...

I am having this same issue with a broken stud in the hotside. It is a real PITA. Luckily I can remove it and use my drill press. Even if you drill it out to beyond the threads just get a tap and dye kit and tap new threads out and use a new bolt, one size up if necessary.

That is a good suggestion to drill with a smaller bit then work your way up. Too many people make their lives difficult by just trying to use the big drill bit first which causes issues with keeping the hole in the center of where you are drilling, etc.

Don't start taking out all the threads. Once you go far enough you should be able to pull the outer shell of the bolt threads out, use some heat if necessary. Once you get it out just run a tap through it to clean up anything you did to the threads in the hole.

You may try a mini die grinder with small bits. Just grind out the bolt and retap the hole. GL.

What he said, and be very patient. Take your time with it.

Ok so I got through the bolt but I didn't get it right in the middle and starting to get to the threads a next size bolt I think won't work because the bolt that it comes with barely clears through the control arm. Is there anything else I can do once I i completely drill the bolt out?

if you're drilling out pretty centered, once you starting hitting the threads, you can try to pry the shell of the bolt that's left toward the center of the hole with a punch?
