If I could afford Volks or Advans I'd use them during the spring and summer, Rotas during the winter. As it stands, I can't justify spending that much for wheels so I would choose Rotas over the more expensive brands any day.

If you're trying to look slick in front of 99% of people on the road, Rotas are a cheap and awesome way to achieve that goal. If you're trying to impress other import enthusiasts, Rotas will never cut it. But, there's never a way to please everybody, so just buy what you like and go with it. Rotas are great, imo.

Well said, I think 99% of people on the road wouldn't know the difference between a volk, advan or rota. I'm talking about people that are not enthusiasts or those that are, but have little knowledge of the import scene/branding.

Personally I don't intend to buy a set (if I go with rota) to impress anyone or score points on being "JDM baller" by passing them off as the rims they replicate. I just want a nice well priced set of rims that will last me a long period of time or until I get bored. Thanks again for all the reviews on rotas as it gives me a lot of insight into the rims from fellow Evo owners. To tell you the truth my perception of rotas has changed quite a bit, and when Evo owners say the rims do their job right, it means a lot.

Funny you guys mention using Rotas for the winter. I'm looking to do the opposite as I have my MR BBS rims power coated black as my winter rims and I am looking to go 18" for the summer time.

If I could afford Volks or Advans I wouldn't have either. I'd rather dump the money into a bigger turbo. Much more enjoyment would be had.

I'm not really into the ricer thing anyways.

Brothers .

I had many diff projects many diff wheels. My budget for project was max 20K$.

But all the time TE37, ADVAN RS, WORK XT7.
no other wheels for me in world.

I think if we discussing "tuning" in front of "pro-sport" wheels 50% of success.

Fail in my opinion and I can say that cause I had them. I was in the same bout as you at first, skeptical. Then I was talked into buying the and instantly realized the finish was poor, they are extremly heavy, and are overall a cheap wheel. I was never happy with mine since the day purchased. Jus my opinion tho...

I have Advan RCII's but would not mind Rotas at all. Don't see what the big deal is.

I had rota on my WRX and they looked great.

Keep in mind I live in a 3rd world country with dirt roads and potholes never had any issues.

They did crack but that was after a bad accident where even volks would of cracked.

Of course if you could care less about aggressive looking wheels then by all means.

TE's should be 4k either thats crazy. I was pricing out some semi custom Gram lights and they were 3700.....Still but not 4k high.

I can't believe CCW's are a less then some Volk wheels. I thought it would've been the other wat around.

I guess if you use the word "aggressive" to describe your ideal wheel aesthetic... To me personally, the only size and offsett that looks "right" are +22, 18x9.5 TE's. Sure lots of smaller offsetts with bigger lips but the radius of the spokes looks all jacked up and wrong, just like the higher offset TEs look flat and kind of strange.

Aren't Gram lights made by Volk and cast?

im still using the same set of rotas i purchased from a few years back, not one problem what so ever. the quality is good as well as the looks. i see nothing wrong with having them on any of my cars, considering i have rota SVN on both my evo and my del sol. for those of you that critize the rest of us for driving with rotas, think realistically we cant or dont want to blow $3000 for a set of wheels that will eventually **** up. i myself can afford volk wheels but i refuse to buy them because the price is just ridiculous and before you fanboys start saying they are tested and blah blah blah. we dont care!! us average evo owners just like cruising with a nice set of wheels and thats it. we arent taking are cars on the Nurburgring or luguna seca. well thats my 2 cents..

Yeah I unfortunately love cars with an agressive look (GTR Face, big lip).....I shoulda bought a Rear wheel drive car. I like the Evo so much I decided I had to have it and make do with wheel fitment.

And you're right they are a 2 piece cast wheel.

Meh.......Even though CCW's are becoming more and more common place i still like them. I'm also considering some SSR MX-1.

Decisions, decisions.
