turbotim06 I feel you man. Here in California we have 91 octane (crappy gas) and it's 3.80 a gallon. E85 is 2.95 but climbing up quickly.

Your statement doesnt make sense? lol I can easily make 300whp on 93, and make 300whp on e85 too.

Um look into Most-wanted's build thread, he just barely made less power than I am on the hta green, on pump gas. Im not arguing that you'll will get more power with pump. Im saying for most peoples goals, e85 is not needed. Its more of a preference. For me, my power goals, e85 is not NEEDED!!!! READ a little bit before you go off the wall of what i am saying.

On the cars running higher boost, e85 is a must, or race gas. AGAIN! I am saying for my goals, i can make the same power on 93. If you dont believe me, I will send you a pm with my new tune, once I get tuned in the spring for pump gas again.

us e85 guys can always run pump and no boost. make sure you cleanse your tank with about 2-3 full tanks of e85 before full boosting again.

So you have to do that everytime you switch back?

I mean that 93 cannot keep up with e85...if your goals can be met by 93 then go for it...now for us that crave more power e85 is the way to go...

And ya with a real conservative e85 tune of course 93 can match your e85 tune...but that'd be useless..

This.

I've had no issues practicing this

Dont get me wrong, if I had a build that really benefited from running e85, I would, no doubt. But for my goals, which now are to get the same power its making on pump. E85 just isnt worth it to me. If I had a built motor, where I could run higher boost, be more endless with power, I would be running E85, cause then its either that, or race gas.
A STOCK evo will benefit from E85. To the guy who bought his car with a HTA Green and claims he makes 430 on pump and almost as much on E85. Find another tuner because E85 is GURANTEE'd to make 50-100 more hp over what you get on 93/91

Most people are getting around potential gunk in the injectors and engine by either running an inline fuel filter on the fiel line (recommended) or simply running a tank of 93 octane for every couple tanks of E85, which will do the trick but may cause "hot spots" on the pistons.
ANd the junk isn't from the gas....its from the gas cleaning out the gunk in your fuel system already,

You guys need to learn to read! lol

I have stated, I make 430whp on e85. Thats what the car is currently tuned on. I did not say I will make more on pump. I said I will get very close to what I am making now, on pump. So I am gonna go back to pump gas. There is only 2 stations here in town that sell e85, its just too much of a hassle for me and my goals.

AGAIN, FOR THOSE WHO DONT READ WELL, I AM GOING BACK TO PUMP, BECAUSE ITS BEEN PROVEN, BRIAN(MOST-WANTED) MADE LIKE 426WHP 395FT LBS ON 93 PUMP WITH AN HTA GREEN. THIS IS WHY I AM GOING BACK TO PUMP. I WONT MISS THE EXTRA 5HP. ITS JUST EASIER FOR ME TO CHANGE TO PUMP.

I'm not missing the point of your post. You last statement like your first implies that you aren't making that much more on E85 in comparison to pump on that turbo. Your numbers are not out of the ordinary for pump gas on the HTA green (I don't think).

I don't know to many people that have the ability to make a ton more power but decide they are ok being slower......Unless E85 is just to inconvenient to get (which I completely understand).

Oh and E is still 60 cents cheaper then regular in my area so factoring the decreased mileage its about the same money spent.....just more power. Win win

I know I can make more power if I want out of the turbo. Im still on stock block right now. So im not pushing any limits. A core charge is too expensive to be playing with a ticking time bomb. Thats why I am saying that my goals with the car, powerwise are where I want them. I can do the same numbers with 93 octane and a tune. So I am gonna go for it and ditch the e85 for now.

Now, if I get a built block, or decide to just run this block till it dies, I would go with e85, cause then my goal is just more power, for now, I am happy with what I got. As its a nice safe limit that I can still have a lot of fun with.
