In my experiences dealers, quick changers, and unfortunately a vendor on this site, usually overfill. I always start with 4-1/4 qts then check the level a couple of hours later or the next morning. Our Evo consumes lots of oil, therefore we check the oil a lot, but, we do lots of tracking. We'll see how it goes during the winter and spring.

I think you'll be ok , just top it off and check your oil everytime you put gas in it. On our S2K it used quite a bit of oil for the first 2-3K miles which had us concerned, but I guess it is normal according to all the people on the S2K Board. Since our first oil change we havent used up any oil, I guess it was just the first 3K miles or so.

BTW the dealer likely never touched the oil in your car, unless it was a demo with a few k on it. They come pre-filled from the factory of course.

It could have just been that it didn't get fully-filled from the factory, which does happen although it's an anomoly for sure.

My bad, I think I was mistaken guys. I checked the oil again this morning and I'm pretty sure its ok. I wiped the segment of the "good" area and oil came off. I think since the oil is so new and clear that I couldn't really see it that well last night.
