Why do EVO owners keep their cars with such low mileage?
I bought mine to drive as often as the oppurtunity presents itself.. No way in hell if the weather conditions permit am I not driving my car... I have a daily 5 Honda I use for the commute/mileage trips....but i plan on driving it when I can..
There are people with no legs out there who love cars, I feel like im insulting them by letting my car sit in the driveway.

Clearly any car will get less and less reliable with increased mileage (not just Evos, even though there are plenty that have over 100k miles and are running strong, or even 4RETECH's Evo VIII with 292k miles). But I think that point might be one of rejuvenation after the 60k service. I'm not looking forward to paying for it, but I'm eager to keep the car running at its best, especially after the spark plugs get replaced during the service, which was something that my mechanic said my car could use sometime soon.
With low mileage comes dry seals if the vehicle wasn't started and driven.
For instance, a crank rear main, the bottom sits in some oil while the top with dry out after a while. I have noticed this more on Ferrari Enzo's (Ive done 7 rear main seals) ,the owners of these cars only have like 2,000-4,000 miles tops. Most of them are 2003's also,LOL . Usually when the second owner decides to drive the car, all sorts of leaks happen.
I'm not saying everyone drive your Evo to death. Enjoy it and take care of it.
mine lives in a garage but i DD it . i just keep it out of the sun as much as possible. only owner for about a year, and it has 103xxx on the clock ive driven in about 6k miles.
Last year i bought my 03' Evo 8 with 22k on it. I picked it up for $17k which i thought was a decent deal. It didnt have a thing done to it either. Besides a $2k deck. It was garage kept and stored winters. The paint and body is perfect as well. I firmly believe that keeping your evo in a garage helps so much cause one reason being we all know how fast the clear coat fades on the carbon fiber of the wing. It seems like every other evo i see the wing looks really rough and faded.
Id say the problem with letting a car sit for long periods of times is dry seals and it will cause wheel bearings to get flat spots. I know this cause it happened to me.
