That depends how you DD it !

Winters in Western NY get pretty heavy snow fall and I would not want to drive any other car for ability to drive through 2 feet of Lake Affect snow falls. I was driving around SUV's stuck in snow and my MR just kept on going. In my Opinion its the perfect Daily Driver for harsh weather areas. I smile every day I start my EVO and Enjoy it every day. Never had that with any other car, including a 1979 BMW 635CSi I had before year.

***** i would totally agree with what your friend says but reality is if you would garage keep a beatiful wife it will still get older and maybe uglier as time goes by, garage keep an evo and itll stay the same. If it ages with time ,use it ;if it ages by using it ,try to conserve it..****

Modded EVO can creep up in speed easy if your not paying that much attention and that just doesn't work out well with over 23,000 cops that don't have much to do....
My 03 has 8600 miles........., but every one of them was pure fun.

I like putting on classy mods and admiring them in the garage, but it is always nice to know you can take your car out and rip around.

I know most guys in Canada enjoy their EVO and put a lot of mileage on them, hence there are basically no low mileage EVO's in Canada unless you are looking to pay a premium (we weren't lucky enough to have the chance to buy them like you guys in the US!).

I thought having 40k was low, but after hearing all of you guys I'm amazed!

There is at least one legit low mileage evo in Canada. Its evo.c's evo8. Last year he bought it at just under 18k miles on it. And the motor was fully rebuilt buschur 2.3 at 12k too, lol. I know he DD's it so probably not that low anymore but still one of the lowest. And yea all the other ct9a evos I've seen in Canada are like 65, 78, 86, etc. Its a primary driver for a lot of us. And awesome fun in the snow.

I drive my car so much I do an oil change every month. It will probably be the highest mileage evo in Canada next year or the year after. I couldn't care less because this car will literally stay with me forever. The only time I wouldn't prefer driving it is rush hour crawl with the effing long 6speed throws. But otherwise I love it. And eventually the drivetrain is going to be built so mileage is just a number.

I've put just under 30K on my car, in 15 months... I bought it used at@58K in Mar 09(yes, I'm aware the math doesn't add up-I was in Afghanistan and other random training).

I took an almost 5000 mile road trip when I got back from Afghanistan, and a 3000 mile trip before I deployed. A long with lots of HPDE time on tracks.

Been modding it nearly constantly, just over 500whp on E85 and it's my DD/only car.

Ok so maybe for the snow I can understand DDing the evo, but even then I might be more inclined to Drive an el cheapo wrx daily and keep the evo for fun.

I agree its impossible to find any semblance of a DSM with low miles and somewhat original condition. But if you look enough you can find all sorts of stock EVOs, low miles. But like anything. In the future the excellent condition stock examples will be rare. Enthusiasts are just waiting for the 8's to sell in their price range. In another five years the herds will be thinned out.
EVOs are high maint cars relatively speaking. Each time they find a new owner and become modded all over again. The poor cars general condition and components are ignored.
Just wait till you see stock Recaro seat prices in good condition in the future.

I thought I'd share this interesting little story...

Today, I pick up my friend and we're heading to lunch. He drives a new 5.0 mustang and our other friend has an 08' Z06. My friend complains the entire time about how bumpy and bouncy the ride is in my car. I have a COMPLETELY STOCK 06' MR. I'm like asking him, are you serious? I never really felt like my car was that bouncy or rode crappy. All the shocks are good, I just had them checked. It rides fine. It rides better than fine, it's a freakin EVO and it handles like it's on rails. But, he complains of it being too rough, too stiff, too loud, etc. He even goes as far as to say that our friends Z06 rides better which I highly doubt. But damn him, now he's got me questioning how awesome my car is. Have any of you guys had similar experiences?
