ACD Issue
ACD Issue
So, I am experiencing an intermittent problem with my '06 Evo RS. All 3 lights on the ACD display are staying lit? The owners manual says nothing except there is a problem and to have it checked out. I am experiencing no driveability issues. The lights will stay on fpr a few days and then go back to normal with just 1 light on. Anyone know what could be causing this issue or where to begin looking.
Thanks!
Thanks!
this happened to me and was my acd pump that failed. you can get one used for A LOT cheaper. check out the classifieds here. you should go to the dealer though as they can check the code for the acd to help narrow down the issue.
Have the same problem, my ACD pump died. Here's my thread, scroll down to post #9 and try that first before you take it to the dealer:

EDIT: I just post it here instead. This will save you from taking it to the dealer to check the code.
get a paper clip and use it to bridge pins 1&4 on your obd
(diagnostics plug) as you sit in the driver seat its in front of your right knee,
when the paper clip is in place turn the key on (dont start the car)
if there are no faults codes the 3 acd lights will flash rapidly.
and if there is fault codes, the 3 lights will flash slower
for example fault code 65
there will be 6 long flashes slight pause followed by 5 short flashes,
simply count the long flashes as 10 : 6x10=60
and the short flashes as 1 : 5x1 = 5
together that's code 65
there may be more than one code.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
If you have checked for codes and you dont come up with anything and you checked the resevour and its empty or near empty its probably got air in the lines. You should bleed the system. if you need to bleed the system let me know I have a diy section.

I had my doubts, but the paperclip in the obd port worked! The code I pulled was 74, which if I remember right has something to do with the Propotioning Valve System. It may be a bad electrical connection/plug or or hydraulic unit. Not sure yet, have to run a few more checks to isolate the problem.
