Just got, buying, reviewing, thinking about a new Evo [Ultra Hyper Mega MERGE]
They lie because they know customers will dump on the guy locally that's worked a few hours for the customer and leave him high and dry for the mere thought of a little better deal.
The customer drives a major drive that's going to eat up the savings in added time, fuel, miles etc. but customers are too stupid to realize they're pissing away their savings that way.
The customer gives up their standing when they need service, unless they're going to drive all that way and eat up all that much more time, fuel, miles etc. so the distant selling dealer will put them in the first tier for service.
Of course they're not going to drive, they're going to the local dealer for service, where they'll be second tier and get their turn after the people who bought from the local dealer.
They lie because customers are stupid and disloyal. They know that most of the time they can get that customer away from their solid local dealer by telling them what they want to hear, regardless of the truth. It's "disneyland" and the customer is going to find mickey and the magic kingdom. When the customer arrives they find the truth and it's not disney any more.

Do not settle for a high mileage car!!!
What you should do now is call up all the dealers around your area and talk to the sales or fleet manager, make the deals with them, since they work on no commission. Most likely, they will not lie. Tell them you want an Evo with sunroof/spoiler for $xxx, and don't wanna put up with any bs. They should give you a price really quickly. It is the end of the month and year, so they will want to move cars out by the quantity, regardless of model, so lowball them very well.

gettin a Evo but need some oppinions
im gettin an evolution very soon and i know im gettin the large spoiler, but i dont think im gettin the sunroof cause i dont really need it and it just adds weight i dont need, but does anyone have images of it with the airdam vs without the airdam, and brake coolin guides, does anyone have any oppinions on the front and rear strut bars? im not sure if i should go with the factory option ones or if i should go aftermarket, im gettin the hyperground cause basically all grounding kits are the same, i guess im just askin what are anyones views on the factory "performance" options or if i should go aftermarket with those, thanks in advance everyone

Dont settle with a high mileage car!
we can match or maybe even beat those prices, and im not joking around either, ask neon salamander, i also sold another one yesterday both were very pleased with our cars, 4 miles on them only, never test driven, plastic wrap on the interior till it was bought, dont go with an evo with 80 miles, you know it has been beat on throughly, we'll get u into the exact car u want and with less than 10 miles...think about it
gregpol-im in socal, puente hills, from what my boss told me we're not having any differences in the 04's we got a red one in 2 days ago, no differences at all

I would not buy any of them.
their gauges are too small and poorly located
the ground wires are WAY too expensive. 220+ vs 30 bucks on ebay.
there rear strut is ugly, the front one looks good but expensive you might as well get a cusco or somthing.
I could go on and on but I would go aftermarket due mostly to the WAY overpricing by mitsu on their options. A guy I know bought 2500 bucks worth of factory options, which I thought were pretty lame. when you could take that $2500 and make your car run high 12's and have some carbon goodies or what not.
my opinion though, they are just too expensive

Anyways its a done deal I already bought the Yellow, they called me this morning a million times crying on the phone and apologizing with everyother word (Voicemail) , so we ended up calling them back just to see what they would say. We got it for $30,200 out the door. We were in and out pretty quick and the car we ended up getting had 12 miles on it. What makes it sweet is we seen 1 car that was Yellow on the way home ours
Also all the looks we got is priceless. Much happier now, I will get some pix up asap. Thanks for all the comments though.

The front dark gray metallic painted stut tower bar is standard, but there is also an optional aluminum one with the reinforcements painted the same maroon as the head. If you got the aluminum and maroon one, you got something extra, if it's the dark gray one you didn't. Not a big deal either way, it's a maybe 5lb weight savings.
Stock there is reinforcement at the back of the trunk behind the carpet, at the back of the rear seat. There is also an optional strut tower bar that goes between the tops of the two struts and cuts into the luggage space quite a bit.

yellow evo VIII rocks!!!!!!!!!!
who care about 10 years later, i'll be driving 100 yellow evoVVVVVV then.
so everyones sayin not to get the factory options because of overprice, but is there any chance some of it is worth the price? ok so i'll get aftermarket grounding cause u can get em for like 100+ instead of like 300, and i guess i'll go aftermarket strut bars too, and i've heard a lot to go with aftermarket guages but are they easy to instal? also if anyone has pics of the airdam vs without and the brake coolin guides
